It has been established that hydrometamorphosed chernozems with a thickness of the humus horizon of more than 1 m are widespread in low relief areas, under conditions of increased moisture. a series of expeditions was carried out to study the soils of natural, arable and fallow lands, as well as pastures. The content of humus and the granulometric composition of soils were determined (types of natural soils: gray typical, hydrometamorphosed chernozem, thin chernozem, typical dark humus; types of agrogenic analogues of natural soils: typical agroabrazem, dark agrozem, typical agrogrey, agroserohumus typical, agrodark humus typical, hydrometamorphosed agrochernozem, typical agrochernozem; more than 30 samples). The influence of these indicators on soil fertility is considered. The change in the nature of land use in the period from 1983 to 2013 has been studied, and possible reasons for these changes. A map of modern land use in 2021 was made. A comparison was made of the nature of modern land use with their use in 1983, 1997, 2005, 2013.","PeriodicalId":147615,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University. The article considers approaches to the calculation of such indices as IZA, KIZA (Russia), AQI (USA, Australia), DAQI (Great Britain), CAQI, YACAQI (European Union), AQHI (Canada, Hong Kong), PSI (Singapore). The main calculation formulas of the indices, the parameters on the basis of which they are calculated and how the results can be interpreted are described. The conclusion about the applicability of these methods on the territory of Russia is made. The calculation part was made on the basis of data on the concentrations of pollutants obtained at automatic atmospheric air monitoring stations in Irkutsk for 2019. In addition, the absolute and relative frequency of occurrence of various index values was calculated. It was found that despite the apparent similarity of the results, the analysis should be carried out at the level of sub-indices or pollution indices for each individual substance. In addition, the calculation of the absolute and relative frequencies of the occurrence of indices corresponding to different levels of pollution showed that averaging the results hides the occurrence of dangerous levels of pollution that may be critical for sensitive population groups (people with chronic diseases, children, the elderly).","PeriodicalId":147615,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University. The basis for assessing the fire-fighting potential of forest geosystems was the analysis of the level of water exchange between the components of geosystems, which characterizes the micro- and mesoclimatic features of landscapes. In order to assess the moisture exchange potential of forest geosystems, a joint analysis of index images reflecting the temperature and humidity of the vegetation cover of landscapes was carried out. These images are calculated based on the infrared channels of the Landsat 8 OLI and TIRS satellite images. Forest geosystems with a high potential for moisture exchange have low temperatures of vegetation cover and high fire resistance. The joint analysis of the index images and the landscape map made it possible to carry out an expert assessment of the fire resistance of various types of forest geosystems on a scale of 1 to 5 points. On the territory of the study, the lowest level of fire-fighting potential is distinguished by the geosystems of dry pine and birch-pine forests on plains and foothill heights composed of Quaternary deposits of light texture (sands, sandy loam). Based on the time series of space images of the Landsat, obtained in different years from 1977 to 2020, an analysis of the actual burning of forests has been carried out. This analysis confirmed the high degree of reliability of the assessment of the fire-fighting potential of the forests of the Chikoy-Khilok interfluve area.","PeriodicalId":147615,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University. However, when creating green areas of cities, certain difficulties arise both in the implementation of legislative acts and in the design and implementation of planned works. The article discusses the features of the “Arboretum” of the Akademgorodok of Irkutsk. The history of its formation is presented. Taking into account these historically established conditions of formation and the initial concept of the park, which is close in its functions to the type of botanical garden, the problems that arose during its planning and implementation of the arrangement are considered. The following problems are noted: expansion of areas for buildings at the expense of green spaces; implementation of standard proposals for landscaping (placement of objects such as children's playgrounds, sports grounds and dog walking, scenes for entertainment events, etc.); excessive increase in the infrastructure of the park due to the excessively wide path network, flower beds with retaining walls, observation decks, etc., instead of increasing the plant diversity of the “Arboretum” and information support for scientific, educational and recreational functions corresponding to its basic concept. Recommendations for the improvement of the arboretum are proposed, enhancing its health, scientific and educational functions.","PeriodicalId":147615,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the structure and diversity of zoocenoses of natural and anthropogenic disturbed soils prevailing in the region, identifies the ecological features of soil invertebrate communities and the limitations of biota functions in the transformed environment, and considers the patterns of transformation of the community structure in the landscape-zonal range under the influence of natural conditions and anthropogenic factors. Landscape-ecological analysis of the taxonomic diversity and structure of the community of soil invertebrates in geosystems was carried out at the local (biogeocenology), topological (facies) and regional levels. The negative impact of anthropogenic pressure on the number, biomass and biodiversity of mesopedobionts is considered. Data on various forms of anthropogenic impact on soil biota at the regional level are summarized. Possibilities of using integral soil-biotic indicators for environmental monitoring and forecasting in conditions of potentially dangerous anthropogenic impacts are shown.","PeriodicalId":147615,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University. They have an unstable hydrological regime due to climate change. The main inflow of the Torey Lakes is the transboundary Ul’dza River. A hydraulic structure is being built on the Mongolian part of this river, the activity of which can lead to significant changes in the water regime of the Torey lakes. Based on the proposed model of the water balance of the Torey lakes, the hydrological regime of these lakes for the period from 1965 to 2018 is characterized. Changes in the level of the Torey Lakes are analyzed, including taking into account the activity of a hydraulic structure. Changes in the hydrological regime of the Torey lakes are considered, taking into account the construction of this hydraulic structure in the form of a reduction in water inflow by 10 and 20%. Possible environmental consequences for the region of the Torey Lakes during the construction of a hydraulic structure on the river are considered.","PeriodicalId":147615,"journal":{"name":"The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University.
