It is assumed that readers are accustomed to using interactive Maple. The programming language used in Maple is interpreted and interactive. Due to the overhead of the interpreter, Maple is not appropriate for running programs that require a lot of numbers. Although it can be used to create numerical codes and for high-precision numerical calculations. This paper uses Maple’s general code to compute the method of steps (MoS) solution of linear neutral and delay differential equations (DDEs). The paper relies on entering simple inputs to get a quick result explained by theoretical solutions and their graphics. A Maple symbolic computation was more efficient than a programming language computation for linear non-neutral DDEs. Maple was faster at solving linear neutral DDEs, which are usually more challenging. Using the MoS methodology, we list and talk about various examples of non-neutral DDEs and NDDEs reported in the literature.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129084133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The type of substrate has a minor impact on the film's spectral absorption and band gap values. The investigation of MB – dye degradation by MoS 2 catalyst under UV – irradiation demonstrates high efficiency of 86%. MoS 2 films deposited on glass substrates have been experienced as CO 2 , HCl, and I 2 gas sensors. The films revealed promises for CO 2 sensing at high temperatures (T ≥ 300 ℃ ) in terms of relatively good response ( ~ 3 min) and moderate recovery of ~ 12 min. Besides, MoS 2 films revealed a quick response within 1 min for both HCl and I 2 gases, while their entire recovery needs a time period longer than one hour.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126448063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main mineral assemblages include arsenopyrite-pyrite-chalcopyrite-galena-sphalerite and sphalerite-gold-covellite-cerussite-pseudomorphic iron oxides. Mineralogical and geochemical studies indicate that the mineralization is of the low sulphidation epithermal gold type, with Pb-Cu type base-metal sulfides. The hydrothermal solutions forming the mineralization have temperatures between 200 and 300 °C. The mineralization formed in three main stages; the first one includes the intrusion of younger granite into the Dokhan volcanics coeval with the initial shearing along the contact between them and responsible for the formation of the main milky white quartz–polymetallic sulfide vein. The second stage is related to later (third and fourth) deformational events responsible for the formation of the grey-colored quartz hosting sphaleriteII-gold-covellite-cerussite-pseudomorphic iron oxides and connected with the basic dolerite dykes and related hydrothermal solutions. This stage includes the release of gold from their main sulfide hosts and re-precipitation in the fractures in quartz vein and alteration zones. The results of this study reveal the existence of promising gold deposits in the North Eastern Desert (NED) of Egypt, which changes the stereotype and may set the stage for future exploration of gold in the NED. Moreover, this study unveiled the nature of the intrusion-related type of mineralization and their characteristic features which can be used in the exploration of similar types in the surrounding areas.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122801497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optical absorption, reflection, and transmission spectra of thin films were measured in the wavelength range of 250 nm to 2500 nm. In our work, MnBi 0.95 Sb 0.05 thin films have a hexagonal structure (P63/mmc group). The optical properties are characterized by high absorption and reflection, as well as very low transmission. Besides that, the absorbance of MnBi 0.95 Sb 0.05 films decreased with increasing thickness. The calculated energy gap of MnBi 0.95 Sb 0.05 thin films depended on the film thickness. It decreases from 1.36V to 1.03V by increasing the thickness from 25nm to 75nm. Different optical parameters like n, k, and ϭ opt are examined and discussed.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124066640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They mainly occur in the contact between Dokhanvolcanics and Younger granites and are confined to and controlled by the Wadi Hammad shear zone. The study revealed that Dokhan volcanics have adakitic nature and are formed by slab melt. Accordingly, these rocks are favorable sites for the formation of Au-(Cu)deposits. Hammad granite rocks are characterized bymetaluminous to weakly peraluminous, span the boundary between the ilmenite-magnetite series, transitional between moderately and strongly oxidized granites, situated a relatively shallow to moderate depths (20 to 30 km), and started to crystallize at temperatures around 800 °C. It is suggested that mineralization in WadiHammad formed due to intrusion of the strongly oxidizing, water-and volatile-rich, and alkaline to alkalie-calcic magma into the adakiticDokhan volcanic leads to circulation of these fluids in the latter leaching the available metals (Au and base metals). The leached metals are deposited in preexisting open fissures at the cold end of convective cells near the surface form Au (Cu)-rich quartz veins.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121927537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Groundwater is the only source of fresh water in the area. Three major hydrogeological units are recorded for groundwater in the study area; the Quaternary, the fractured Precambrian, and the Phanerozoic aquifers. The hydrogeochemical properties of groundwater were evaluated through the chemical analysis of 5 collected water samples from available wells in the study area. The resulting groundwater is characterized by Ca 2+ > Na + > Mg 2+ and Cl – > SO 4 2− > HCO 3 – , in Queih wells while Asal has Na + > Ca 2+ > Mg 2+ and Cl – > SO 4 2− > HCO 3 – . The hydrochemical facies in this area fall in the field of Ca-Na-Cl-SO 4 for Queih, and Na-Ca-Cl-SO 4 for Asal, indicating Ca 2+ and Na + are the dominant cations in the groundwaters from Queih and Asal areas with mixing or dissolution (for Queih water samples) and reverse ion exchange reactions (for Asal water samples) as the prevalent hydrochemical processes controlling their chemistry. High K + and NO 3 – in Queih are due to agricultural activities accelerated by using potassium fertilizers. TDS is more than 3000 mg/L, and the Middle Miocene sandstone aquifer of Asal water is more saline than the Cretaceous aquifers of Queih due to the presence of faults and dykes that allows water to infiltrate with great leaching processes from surrounding aquifers lithologies. Monitoring the natural and anthropogenic activities that influence groundwater quality around Safaga-Quseir District, Red Sea, is essential for the future sustainable management of water resources.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115210483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present paper, copper Schiff base complex was successfully prepared from the reaction between (1, 1 -(pyridine-2,3-dimethyl imino methyl)naphthalene-2,2 –diol) and Cu(CH 3 COO) 2 salt. This was successfully characterized with different techniques and grafted over graphene oxide (GO) as support after functionalizing it via chemical grafting using aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) as a linker to obtain the functionalized form (FGO). The new heterogeneous complex (CuMGO) was depicted using physicochemical and spectroscopic tools such as FT-IR, UV-Vis, SEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and XPS. The results manifest that Cu(II) imine complex was successfully immobilized on GO. The resulting catalyst was used to reduce 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) to its corresponding amine 4-aminophenol (4-AP) at room temperature in case of using hydrazine hydrate as a reducing agent. It showed good activity with a percent of conversion (44.4%) and an apparent rate constant of 2.06 × 10-3 min-1 in about 130 min. The prepared catalyst can be recycled five times without losing its activity.","PeriodicalId":146413,"journal":{"name":"Sohag Journal of Sciences","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115351975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Measuring the total metal concentration needs to provide more information on the bioavailability or toxicity of metals. Therefore, it has been established that the free metal ion concentration (or activity) is crucial in determining metal bioavailability and toxicity in most circumstances. The present study aimed to:1-evaluate the effects of prolonged use of three types of irrigated water (sewage effluent, industrial effluent-and Nile-water) on some soil properties, 2-determine the active portion of Zn 2+ , and 3-identify the possible solid phases (minerals), which govern the solubility of Zn2+ in some soil in Sohag Governorate, using stability mineral diagrams. The results revealed that clay content increased by 3.38 %, 9.2 %, and 14.64%) in industrial -, sewage -, and Nile-irrigated soil, respectively, over their corresponding values in the last layer of their profiles.
