With the use of the technology of multi-phase switching of each band produced by the divider, the best band can be automatically determined within a single reference cycle and the technology can be applied simultaneously to the transmission receivers of Wimax and WLAN specifications. In the VCO design, we use the multi-band VCO design method to achieve low slope and improve the VCO of process variation. In addition, we will improve the traditional method of comparing and selecting the band. By using the method of distinguishing whether the frequency is ahead or behind and the algorithm of rapid band switching, the way to determining the band in a single reference cycle can be reached so as to achieve the wide-ranged operation of the frequency synthesizer.","PeriodicalId":145771,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 3rd Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123977034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although GPS exhibits superior performance outdoors, as for the indoor positioning, the fixing rate and accuracy are not high enough for pedestrian navigation systems and/or LBS (Location-Based Service). In this regard, we attempted to implement indoor positioning using cellular phones with built-in GPS and NFC, which is installed in smart vending machines and widely used in Japan. GPS is becoming increasingly popular, where $GPGGA sentences produced by the GPS receiver, provide 4D G-Spatial information including latitude, longitude, altitude, time, and floor. With the rapid growth of GPS applications, this G-Spatial data is becoming the key to the implementation of seamless indoor/outdoor positioning services when both daily life and in the emergency throughout the world.","PeriodicalId":145771,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 3rd Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123545594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following the “Smart City” paradigm, new challenges arise to increase the attractiveness of a residential district. In care work, recording and managing the health of the elderly is important, but this is becoming more difficult as the information that must be managed and record increases, and in many cases must be recorded manually. This has increased an enormous burden on caregivers. To automatically recorded the health of the elderly, thus reducing the burden on caregivers, we propose a water intake automatic recording method using sound data collected using a throat microphone. In the proposed method, fluid intake is automatically recognized by using the frequency and amplitude characteristics of swallowing sounds recorded by a throat microphone. By applying this method, we were able to detect fluid intake with 95% accuracy and estimate the mouthful amount of drinking with a 3.33 ml RSME.","PeriodicalId":145771,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 3rd Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116731056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To save LDPC iterative process energy, early terminations are commonly used. Traditional parity check equation is used but has a growing complexity as the block size increases. This requires a large overhead in term of area. This paper proposes an ultra-low complexity early termination (ET) scheme with a small loss of bit error rate performance based on the layer stopping (LS) criterion. The proposed ET scheme is performed by checking the number of convergent layers stopped by the LS criterion with a preset threshold. Compared with other ET schemes, the proposed ET scheme has a negligible hardware overhead and an acceptable bit error rate performance.","PeriodicalId":145771,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 3rd Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124596754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
