In total, 44 species belonging to 18 genera of three tribes (Galerucini, Hylaspini and Luperini) are listed. Iranian Galerucinae is characterized by 11 endemic species. For every species provincial distributions is given based on available literature records and additional province records were examined. All species that deposited in Jalal Afshar Zoological Museum (University of Tehran) are reported. Moreover, Luperus perlucidus Iablokoff-Khnzorian, 1956 is reported as a new record for Iranian Chrysomelidae. Theone octocostata afghanistanica Mandl, 1968, Galerucella nymphaeae (Linnaeus, 1758), Galeruca pomonae (Scopoli, 1763), Exosoma thoracicum (Redtenbacher, 1843) and Luperus kiesenwetteri Joannis, 1865 which were omitted in the catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera added again to the leaf beetle fauna of Iran. Until now, six caves have been investigated and eight species of cave-dwelling bats have been reported from Ilam province in south-western Iran. The present paper has also summarized additional information on 39 distribution records of 11 species in this province. In this study we visited a total of 28 caves, 23 of which contained at least one species of bat. Species recorded in the present study include Rhinopoma microphyllum, R. hardwickii and R. muscatellum from family Rhinopomatidae, Asellia tridens from family Hipposideridae, Myotis blythii, M. emarginatus from family Vespertilionidae, Miniopterus pallidus from family Miniopteridae, Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, R. hipposideros, R. euryale and R. blasii from family Rhinolophidae. M. blythii with 11 distribution records is the most widely distributed species and Khofash cave with four species and about 30,000 bats is the most crowded roost in the study area.","PeriodicalId":14532,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Animal Biosystematics","volume":"62 1","pages":"97-110"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73707265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new genus can be distinguished by the unique shape of its labial probolae, consisting of swollen labial shaft and a trifurcated apical section. The cephalic probolae is triangular in shape. Cuticle is transversely annulated, lateral field with five incisors, outer ones being undulate. The stoma comprises of cheilostom with granular rhabdia, gymnostom narrower than cheilostom and stegostom. Stegostome can be differentiated into three parts meta, meso and telo. A tooth is present on mesostegostome. Females have cephaloboid type of reproductive system. Tail is elongate conoid with a pointed tip. Males were not found. The newly described genus closely resembles Acrobeles Linstow, 1877, Chiloplacus Thorne, 1937 and Cervidellus Thorne, 1937 in having similar stoma, furcated labial probolae, simple cuticle and cephaloboid type of female gonad with a post uterine sac. But, is clearly distinguishable by the related genera on the basis of the shape of labial probolae and the presence of outer undulated lateral lines. A dichotomous key to the identification of the genus has also been provided.","PeriodicalId":14532,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Animal Biosystematics","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78271915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Iran three species of three-toed Jerboa have been reported: Jaculus jaculus from the south west and west of Iran, Jaculus blanfordi from the northeast, east and central part of Iran and Jaculus thaleri from the east of Iran. In present study, the phylogenetic and taxonomic relationships in the genus Jaculus from Iran were examined using molecular, geometric morphometric and morphologic data. Our molecular analyses indicated two monophyletic clades which contain J. jaculus and J. blanfordi. There is a high amount of genetic interspecific distance (12.7%) between J. jaculus and J.blanfordi, while the intraspecific divergence within these two species is low. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) of morphometric variables were significant (P<0.05) and shows that J. jaculus is significantly smaller than J. blanfordi. Statistical Analysis on outline data shows that there is an intraspecific geographic variation in 2nd lower molar shape in J.blanfordi so that northern populations are determinable from the south ones (Pvalue= 0.016). Although the findings strengthen an idea of presence of two subspecies in northeast and southeast of Iran, it would require further studies. In this study, expansion of J. jaculusto the center of Iran, suggests that it is sympatric with J. blanfordi in Esfahan province.","PeriodicalId":14532,"journal":{"name":"Iranian Journal of Animal Biosystematics","volume":"207 1","pages":"123-139"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78121657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
