Generalized quality factor of the small antenna with respect to its dimensions and signal spectral density is obtained, which may be considered as an extension of the McLean theory to the case of non-harmonic signals. Some examples of the obtained relations implementation are given.","PeriodicalId":143296,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134310949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A simple Bragg scattering model was used for surface scattering modeling. The simulation was performed in the L-band for future radar missions SMAP and ALOS-2. The soil permittivity is calculated using the temperature-dependent generalized refractive mixing dielectric model for the organic rich soil sample collected in North Slope, Alaska (68°38'N, 149°35'W). This model predicts the complex dielectric constant of moist soil both thawed and frozen at temperatures from -30°C to +25°C and moistures from 0 to 0.94 g/g. It is shown that the error of determining soil surface deformation, induced by processes of freezing of the permafrost active layer, does not exceed 1.5 cm.","PeriodicalId":143296,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129614657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation objective consisted in revision of the engineering-geological conditions changed as a result of permafrost defrosting near building plus under one, and also in definition of piles depth in mark points of base. GPR researches are carried out for engineering-geological researches, and also for definition of piles step and length. The pile depth has been measured by GPR with frequency of the antenna block of 250 and 700 MHz. The profiling for definition of a geological structure of ground was carried out. As a result of experimental works the GPR method was practically approved for monitoring of subsurface environment for the purpose of revealing of the permafrost defrosting zones. Productivity of the subsurface GPR method has been shown for engineering-geological and observation purposes.","PeriodicalId":143296,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125443663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
