Regarding subjective evaluation, all patients were very satisfied with the final aesthetic result, resulting in subjective improvements in personal well-being.Conclusions: Keratopigmentation achieves satisfactory and long-lasting aesthetic results. It is not very painful and can be performed using different techniques that must be customized according to each case, increasingly reinforcing this surgery as a safe therapeutic alternative that can promote great social impact on patients' lives.","PeriodicalId":14021,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Ophthalmology","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135611511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This project's objective was to research the significant value of ASـOCT parameters in subtypes of primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG). Methods: This is an observational, prospective cross-sectional research on 60 eyes of patients with PACG. There were three distinct groups of patients: Group (PACS) (n=18): primary angle closure suspect. Group (PAC) (n=18): primary angle closure. Group (PACG) (n=24): PACGResults: Angle Opening Distance (AOD) 500 NAS and Trabecular-Iris Contact Length (TICL) NAS discrepancies across the groups (p1, p2 and p3) were statistically different. In the group P1, there were substantial variations in iris thickness measured by the 750 Trabecular Meshwork (TEM). In the PACG and PAC groups, respectively, there was a highly significant negative connection between the lens vault and the AC depth and width. The lens vault and TICL at the temporal angle had a substantial negative association in the PAC group and an elevated correlation in the PACG group. Cup-to-disc (C/D) ratio, lens vault, AOD500 at nasal angle, Iris curve at nasal and temporal angle, Iris thickness at temporal angle, TICL at both temporal and nasal angle are predictor parameters in subtypes of primary angle closure.Conclusions: ASOCT can be used to assess anterior chamber angle. AS-OCT has a role to determine which parameters are the strongest predictive factors of subtypes of PAC. AS-OCT will be employed as a diagnostic tool for glaucoma patients' diagnosis and maybe their therapy.","PeriodicalId":14021,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Ophthalmology","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136298576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: Comparison of the children attending the Pediatric Eye Department of Kedia Eye Hospital during and before lockdown. Data of February 16 2021 to April 15 2021 was compared with April 16 2021 to June 15 2021. Collection of data was done from the Kedia Eye Hospital Outpatients and Emergency Eye Register. Results: Children below 15 years of age were enrolled in this study. Number of patients recorded from February 16 to April 15 2021 were 2030 and from April 16 to June 15 2021 were 318. Male patients attending hospital before lockdown was 51.62% and 55.47% during lockdown. Before lockdown female patient in the hospital was 55.47% and during lockdown was 44.02%. Total surgeries performed before lockdown was 94 and during lockdown was 11. Before lockdown Refractive error (43.15%) was the most common problem followed by Dry eye (16.55), vernal keratoconjunctivitis (15.41%). During lockdown Refractive Error (32.38%) was common followed by viral conjunctivitis (17.92%), Nasolacrimal duct obstruction (13.83%) and Trauma (11.63%). Conclusion: COVID -19 Lockdown reduced the number of patients and surgeries in the hospital. Trauma related eye disease, ocular infections and nasolacrimal duct obstruction increased in children during the lockdown.","PeriodicalId":14021,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Ophthalmology","volume":"107 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89007986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A very important step in LASIK surgery is the formation of the flap. The corneal flap was made using a variety of microkeratomes. The purpose of this study was to compare the central corneal thickness following LASIK to the corneal thickness of the flap. Methods: This retrospective comparative study was performed on 200 eyeballs divided into four groups each of 50 eyeballs according to the type of microkeratome used for surgery; group 1 (M2 90), group 2 (M2 130), group 3 (SBK 90), group 4 (SBK 130). Cases were operated during the last seven years by ALCON WAVELIGHT EX500 unit (year of production: 2012). Results: Two hundred eyeballs of 100 patients were treated. Mean thickness of the flap of 103.3±9.54 mm, 126.05±17.07 mm, 120.9±14.4 mm, and 141.19±11.63 mm The SBK head created the thinnest flaps in the first cut utilising the SBK 90, SBK 130, M2 90, and M2 130 heads, respectively. The SBK 90 head produced the most exact and precise thickness of the flap, followed by the SBK 130 head, the M2 90 head, and the M2 130 head, as shown by the standard deviation and difference from the desired value. Conclusions: Of the 4 types, the SBK generally produced the thinnest and most accurate flaps.","PeriodicalId":14021,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Medical Ophthalmology","volume":"177 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79934844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
