They are sometimes called “free-radical scavengers.” The sources of antioxidants can be natural or artificial. Periodontitis results from the loss of balance between microbial virulence factors and a proportionate host response. Antioxidant is a substance that is present at low concentrations which significantly delays or prevents oxidation of that substrate. Ocimum sanctum which is a plant extract had a medicinal value and it had been used in asian countries to treat various disease. Materials and methods: Ocimum Sanctum commercially available powders are used to analyze antioxidant potential. In which three radical scavenging analyzed oxide Results: The results from obtained from the reagents shows DPPH radical scavenging activity shows tulsi shows higher activity compared with vitamin c, Superoxide anion radical scavenging, Nitric oxide radical scavenging activity shows vitamin c has higher activity compared with tulsi. Conclusion: The above results of the antioxidant activity shows that vitamin c activity is higher in Superoxide anion radical scavenging, Nitric oxide radical scavenging activity of each concentration of tulsi 100 𝜇𝑔/ 𝑚𝑙 ,200 𝜇 g/ml,300 𝜇 g/ml,400 𝜇 g/ml,500 𝜇 g/ml. show that Vitamin C has higher concentration compared with tulsi.The results of the study shows that DPPH radical scavenging show the tulsi has highest antioxidant activity compared with Superoxide anion scavenging and Nitric oxide radical scavenging.","PeriodicalId":13919,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49202767","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

AGoogle search of the Regulatory Authority´s website of each country was performed,and then the “snowball” sampling technique was carried out. The information was organized in tables according to four categories of analysis.A total of 138 regulations corresponding to 18 countries were analyzed. The regulations of Mexico, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua are clear, precise, and complete because: a) they divide the requirements of the medical and dental areas, b) they detail the information they request, c) they include requirements established in the norms and recommendations of international bodies. In conclusion, in orderfor the applicant and the holder of the authorization of the installationto have a better understanding of the regulations, thesemust be clear, precise, and complete. In addition, they must contain a chapter with specific requirements for each type of X-ray generating equipment used in dentistry. Finally, they must incorporate requirements on the collaboration of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist Specialist, the radiographic diagnosis, and the disposal of liquids used in the development process.","PeriodicalId":13919,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41580281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the general population, the frequency of CTS prevalence ranged between 3% and 6%. Objectives: To demonstrate the prevalence of CTS symptoms among dentists working in Benghazi-Libya. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2019. 205 dentists working in 14 different dental clinics across the city were asked to fill in a questionnaire regarding the symptoms of CTS. Results: Out of 205 questionnaires distributed, only 132 dentists (64.4 %) responded, 73 were male (55.3%) and 59 (44.7%) were female. Out of those participants, 81 dentists (61.3 %) had one or more symptoms of CTS. 32 dentists (24.2%) experienced hand or wrist pain at night, whereas 42 dentists (31.8%) complained of wrist pain during the daytime. In addition, 19 dentists (14.4%) felt hand numbness and 34 (25.8%) suffered from hand weakness during work. Moreover, hand-tingling problems were observed in 23 dentists (17.4%), and the difficulty with grasping and using small objects were reported in 19 dentists (14.4%). Finally, the difficulty of handling manual devices and surgical forceps was detected in 12 dentists (9.1%) and 37 dentists (28%) respectively. Conclusion: This study shows a significant number of dentists working in Benghazi have symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.","PeriodicalId":13919,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44887922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, many methods were used to preserve the socket absorption, including bone grafts, which is the most available and less expensive material. Aim of Study: to evaluate the effectiveness of calcium sulfate in reducing bone absorption and preventing alveolitis after teeth extraction. Materials & Methods: 24 teeth were extracted; 12 sockets were immediately grafted with Calcium Sulfate after extraction however, 12 sockets were left to heal spontaneously without adding any material. In both groups, the horizontal bone absorption of the crestal bone was evaluated 6 months after the extraction using CBCT technique. The occurrence of alveolitis was evaluated clinically. Results: Radiographic results after 6 months showed that the average of horizontal bone absorption in the study sample was (0,575± 0.24) mm, and the absorption rate was (8.5%) while in the control group (without Bone graft) the average of horizontal bone absorption was (1,483± 0.65) and the absorption rate was (22.7%). The incidence of alveolitis in the study group was (0%), while it was 41.7% in the control group. Conclusion: The application of calcium sulfate grafts after extractions reduces dimension changes in the alveolar bone at the horizontal level, but doesn't prevent its occurrence. On the other hand, it can prevent the occurrence of post-extraction Alveolitis.","PeriodicalId":13919,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45509675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
