In this project, which is meanwhile funded by \"Oberfrankenstiftung\", we communicate computer science content to beginners and matured students. As the number of participating students is very large in comparison to the number of advisors and big distances have to be bridged, we separated students into two groups. Students from schools located not far from our university are taught in common face-to-face lessons, while far-off students get taught the same content in online lessons. In this paper we want to present the project, its preconditions and the didactical and content based concepts. We will introduce a web based technical environment which fulfills these issues and facilitates realization of afore mentioned online courses. Finally, we present lessons learned from this project and draw conclusions especially concerning the technical platform which consists of hardware and software used.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131568752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we consider the importance of cinematic presentation in Internet-based interactive entertainment. We propose that a tool for the artistic and technical representation of presentation-layer demands of interactive entertainment already exists: a system called DirectorNotation. This system can provide the ability for the creation of artistically significant, adaptive, context sensitive, interactive, actionable multimedia content. In the work that has been presented so far on DirectorNotation, the applications that are considered target the professional film director in his filming activities to produce better results, or consider the \"artificial intelligence\" possibilities of exploiting a knowledge model of film directing. In this paper, we aim to create a connection to the domain of interactive entertainment, showing that this application area can achieve highly promising improvements by exploiting the suggested technology combination.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114552192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the adoption of the same ontology over a certain domain of interest by different people or organizations is unlikely, mainly due to the decentralized nature of ontology development. The paper presents a procedure for mapping hierarchical ontologies, populated with instances taken from properly classified text documents. It combines a structural and instance-based approaches in order to yield concept-to- concept mapping assertions between two input ontologies. It can be successfully applied to finding correspondences between the elements of two directories.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125365294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has also been provided as an underline communication middleware for semantic Web services. While focusing on scalability and openness of triple space computing to bring it into its full potential in a global view, the possibility of heterogeneity among different users communicating over triple space is very likely to arise. This paper focuses on providing the triple space computing with data mediation to enable easy integration of data, information, and knowledge. Mediation is a technique to overcome heterogeneity issues in a system, i.e. to remove differences in the syntactic representation and the intended semantics of data that is exchanged [2]. The paper introduces an abstract mapping language and shows how mapping rules can be created using this mapping language. It further proposes mediation APIs for users and internal system. It also explains the grounding of mediation mapping rules to triple space. It further provides a refined version of architecture of the mediation engine along with its bindings with other components of triple space computing paradigm.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125506551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in most approaches proposed so far, the analysis is restricted to the control flow only. Analysing quality properties of BPEL processes might therefore yield false-negative results. In this paper, we are presenting an enhanced BPEL to Petri net mapping, that incorporates relevant data aspects by doing a CSSA- based analysis and applying novel Petri net patterns. The resulting formal model allows for a more precise analysis of critical properties, such as controllability and behavioural compatibility.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126843194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although XML data is self-describing, most application domains tend to use document schemas, given as Document Type Definitions (DTDs) or XML-Schemas. An XML document is considered valid if it conforms to the constraints and rules specified in its schema. A lot of work has been done in querying XML documents. Recently, the issue of updating XML documents has gained attention because an update operation may invalidate the whole document. In this paper, we present existing approaches to update XML documents and offer a new one that guarantees that the updated document still conforms to its DTD. Our methodology updates XML documents without breaking their validity by storing and retrieving XML documents in/from an object database.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123199859","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It depends on wireless networks for accessing the Internet from mobile devices and for exchanging data between such devices. Wireless technologies on the one hand evolve rapidly and are met in many different applications. On the other hand a plethora of factors encourage market to make advances towards the m-commerce market. New ideas about m-commerce services and applications find acceptance by the business world and by users. Unfortunately not all users know how to create m-commerce services and applications. Thus a system which can easily create mobile commerce systems can be proved very helpful. In this paper we present a system which can create other m-commerce systems in a user friendly way. The system is meant to be used in the m-commerce market as a mean of developing hotel Websites and mobile sites. It uses a simple form which guides the user to create fully functional websites and mobile sites. We focus on implementation issues and evaluate our system after testing it. Finally, conclusions are extracted and future work is proposed.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"abs/1602.00269 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125290367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The correct specification of standards has become essential in software development in order to handle correctly the development of projects. Nowadays the need to define standards at the outset of any engineering project is more evident than ever. The specification of standards has become an essential topic which universities try to teach to software engineering students. In fact, software creation processes are required intrinsically to be produced according to a systematic methodology to enable constant control during the project life cycle. This paper presents a new environment that enables semantic and social interaction of documentation produced during software development processes.","PeriodicalId":139145,"journal":{"name":"2008 Third International Conference on Internet and Web Applications and Services","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131213032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
