Sensor nodes are randomly distributed in monitoring area. The contiguous job allocation in sensor network create fragmentation problem which leaves out certain nodes within the network without any allocation. Uneven job scheduling creates energy holes in the network. In this paper we propose a distributed job scheduling technique where we solve energy hole problem and we also manage limited sensor nodes resources in such way that the network's performance is higher compared to other existing job allocation techniques. In this scheme in spite of base station (as in centralized approach) the job scheduling is performed by the distributed cluster heads. The experimental results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed work.","PeriodicalId":137916,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Recent Trends in Information Systems","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131648037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Naturally, the facial features of a subject taken from different instances of the same emotion have wider variations. In presence of two or more facial features, the variation of the attributes together makes the emotion recognition problem more complicated. This variation is the main source of uncertainty in the emotion recognition problem, which has been addressed here in two steps using type-2 fuzzy sets. First a type-2 fuzzy face-space is constructed with the background knowledge of facial features of different subjects for different emotions. Second, the emotion of an unknown facial expression is determined based on the consensus of the measured facial features with the fuzzy face-space. General Type-2 Fuzzy Sets have been used to model the fuzzy face space. The general type-2 fuzzy set involves both primary and secondary membership distributions, which have been obtained here by formulating and solving an optimization problem. The optimization problem here attempts to minimize the difference between two decoded signals: the first one being the type-1 defuzzification of the average primary membership distributions obtained from the n-subjects, while the second one refers to the type-2 defuzzified signal for a given primary distribution with secondary memberships as unknown. The uncertainty management policy adopted using general type-2 fuzzy set has resulted in a classification accuracy of 96.67%.","PeriodicalId":137916,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Recent Trends in Information Systems","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123119404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CTG is non-invasive, low price tool for checking the fetal status. Its introduction to the clinical routine limited the occurrence of fetal damage such as cerebral palsy as well as fetal mortality. One of the major features of fetal heart rate (FHR) is its baseline. Visual analysis by expert clinicians is used to evaluate the FHR baseline. This results in large inter and intra-observer variability in its interpretation. There are continuous efforts to develop methods to more accurately predict the baseline of FHR. There exist a relationship between FHR and the uterine contraction. In this paper we have explored effect of uterine contraction on the heart rate of the fetus and hence on the value of the baseline. Baseline is calculated by removing the acceleration, deceleration, and the portion of FHR which corresponds to uterine contraction. Depending on this value of baseline variability is calculated and classified. Our results were compared with the opinions of an obstetrician and another researcher in this field.","PeriodicalId":137916,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Recent Trends in Information Systems","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116271266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed MIF scheme exploits the advantages of both RT and PCNN to obtain better results. The source medical images are first decomposed by discrete RT (DRT). The low-frequency subbands (LFSs) are fused using the ‘max selection’ rule. For the fusion of high-frequency subbands (HFSs) a PCNN model is utilized. Modified Spatial Frequency (MSF) in DRT domain is input to motivate the PCNN and coefficients in DRT domain with large firing times are selected as coefficients of the fused image. Then inverse DRT (IDRT) is applied to the fused coefficients to get the fused image. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by various quantitative measures like Mutual Information (MI), Spatial Frequency (SF), and Entropy (EN) etc. Visual and quantitative analysis and comparisons show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in fusing multimodality medical images.","PeriodicalId":137916,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Recent Trends in Information Systems","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115755903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The availability of time-series gene expression data makes it possible to investigate the gene activities of the whole genomes. Under this framework, gene interaction is explained through a connection weight matrix. Based on the fact that the measured time points are limited and the assumption that the genetic networks are usually sparsely connected, we present an ABC-based search algorithm to unveil potential genetic network constructions that fit well with the time-series data and explore possible gene interactions. A cost function is designed, the minimization of which yields the solution to the problem. Computer simulation of the proposed algorithm reveals that it is able to predict the signs of all the existing weights accurately.","PeriodicalId":137916,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Recent Trends in Information Systems","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121179825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
