Fur eine spezielle Lastverteilung und Schalengeometrie wird die so gewonnene Losung mit derjenigen, die man im Rahmen der Fluggeschen und der „verbesserten” Schalentheorie erhalt, numerische verglichen. Es zeigt sich, das — gemessen an der elastizitatstheoretischen Losung — die „verbesserte” Theorie hinsichtlich der Voraussage des Reaktionsverhaltens der Schale uber Zeiten, die die Spannungs- und Verschiebungs-maxima enthalten, bessere Ergebnisse liefert als die Fluggesche Theorie und das auserdem Vorsicht am Platze ist, wenn eine der Schalentheorien auf das anfangliche Reaktionsverhalten angewendet wird. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000The dynamic response of a freely supported circular cylindrical shell is treated within the framework of the three dimensional theory of elasticity. A numerical comparison of this solution with corresponding solutions within the framework of the Flugge and “improved” shell theories is presented for a specific load distribution and shell geometry. When compared to the elasticity theory solution, it is shown that improved theory is better than Flugge theory in predicting the response over times which contain the maximum stresses and displacements. Aus den Ergebnissen werden zwei charakteristische Merkmale abgeleitet: Fur die Verbrennungswarme, den Ladungsdurchmesser und das Molekulargewicht des umgebenden Gases existiert je eine untere Grenze, und fur eine Parameterkombination oberhalb eines kritischen Wertes werden zwei Ausbreitungsgeschwindigkeiten gefunden. Daher ist das Ausbleiben der Detonation einer freien Gassaule eher ein hydrodynamisches als eine chemisches Problem. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000A quasi-onedimensional analysis and a generalized Chapman-Jouguet condition are developed for the gaseous free detonation in an inert environment. Two characteristic features derived from the results are that there exists a lower limit for each of the heat of combustion, the charge diameter and the molecular weight of the environmental gas and that two propagation velocities are for an above-critical combination of the parameters.
