O suíno produzido no Brasil é um animal que, de diferentes formas, foi importado de outros países relativamente frios. Portanto, eles foram geneticamente adaptados ao clima tropical. Assim, devido aos efeitos nocivos das altas temperaturas, melhorar o ambiente de produção é a forma mais eficiente de mitigar o estresse térmico. Esta revisão tem como objetivo abordar as principais complicações que o estresse térmico pode causar aos suínos e identificar abordagens de manejo adequadas para reduzir a suscetibilidade a curto prazo ao desconforto. Tais informações buscam incentivar práticas de manejo sadio voltadas para o conforto térmico dos animais e consequente ganho de eficiência produtiva.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88397114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Assuming that the bottom-up is more intense than the top-down mechanism along the cascade of reservoirs, which limits the growth and development of individuals, we investigated the effect of a cascade of reservoirs in a neotropical basin on the stock and distribution of the population of Oligosarcus longirostris, a species at the top of the food chain. Samples were conducted quarterly in five reservoirs, from March 2004 to December 2008. Stock size was estimated by catch per unit effort (CPUE); to establish the size spectra slopes of fish, we used Pareto I model, and data was analyzed using univariate analysis of variance followed by Tukey's test. There was a higher proportion of smaller individuals in the first reservoir of the cascade, with a decline in this proportion along the succession of reservoirs in the cascade. It can be concluded that there is an effect of the reservoir cascade on the abundance and size of individuals of Oligosarcus longirostris.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90969077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet, empirical evidence indicates that schools’ management faces a lot of challenges, hence making it very difficult for the implementation of the new programme. The study sought to explore the influence of schools’ management financial preparedness on implementation of CBC in Kirinyaga west subcounty, Kirinyaga County, Kenya. The study was anchored on Curriculum Implementation Theory, Theory of Organizational Readiness for Change, and Kurt Lewin Change Management Model. The study adopted mixed method approach, which allowed concurrent triangulation of data where both quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used. Target population comprised 68 headteachers, 1,020 teachers, 15, 500 CBC pupils and 4 sub-county education officials totaling to 16,592 respondents. Yamane Formula was used to sample 399 respondents that were identified using purposive and stratified random sampling techniques. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data from teachers whereas an interview guide was used to collect qualitative data from head teachers and subcounty education official. Quantitative data was organized and processed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS (version 23) and presented using frequency tables. Linear regression was carried out under inferential statistics. Qualitative data was analyzed using thematic content analysis technique and presented using narratives. All research protocols were observed throughout the study, including obtaining all relevant authorizations and observing respect for the participants. The study established that schools’ financial preparedness has significant influence on the implementation of the CBC in public primary schools in Kenya. The study recommended that there is need for the government to provide enough financial resources for implementation of the CBC. School managers should be trained on how to mobilize financial resources to complement government efforts.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"65 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85079150","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experiential learning has proven to have many benefits for students because of putting them at the center of the learning process and allowing them to learn by doing. More specifically, as part of the practical sessions, students were tasked to design, implement and report on one field experiment conducted in collaboration with a nudge unit. We believe that this approach whereby students apply their knowledge through experimentation to address issues relevant to their communities and environment can be more effective and impactful than traditional teaching or relying only on classroom-based experiments. In this paper, we share the lessons learned from the journey of delivering several experiential behavioral economics courses.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"20 3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82904680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the preferred instruments for this task is the Stress Wave Timer, because it is portable and easy to use. This instrument needs to be calibrated to minimize possible reading errors. Tests were performed on samples of different sizes from four Amazonian timber tree species, with differing distances between the start/stop accelerometers and varying gain settings. The aim was to identify errors and find the best ratio between the Metricard SWT’s start and stop accelerometers. The best ratio was observed with settings of 40 for stop and 1 for start. The calculation of the confidence interval for the mean of the stress wave velocities expresses a degree of uncertainty ranging from 2% to 8%, regardless of the species and according to the start/stop ratio. A more in-depth evaluation led to the conclusion that the greatest degree of uncertainty occurs with short pieces. This confirms the need to calibrate the equipment, especially when using the instrument with pieces approximately equal to or less than 70 cm in length. The value for offset time (intersection of the line with the axes) was determined by a simple regression analysis, and indicated that the data correction factor varied from 1.9 to 2.2 depending on the start/stop ratio, at least in the samples studied.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81881545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this sense, the NITs seek means and tools capable of assisting in the operationalization of these administrative processes. Among the various possibilities, this article brings, in particular, the conceptual approach to design management. Design management establishes recommendations for the use of design resources according to institutional goals. Based on this approach, the article aims to identify management activities within the NITs and their relationship with design management. To this end, a literature review was carried out to build the theoretical framework, a documentary research to survey the innovation policy indicators (Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Inovação e Comunicação [MCTI], 2019) and application of a likert-type questionnaire in consultation with five technological innovation environments in the region Northeast of Brazil. The study is classified as applied research with a qualitative approach with an exploratory and descriptive objective. The research showed that despite the understanding of the potential of design to promote technological innovation, design management is not a practice systematically integrated into the management processes of the NIT. Subsequently, it was possible to present a set of propositions for the application of design management that support the combination of the essential and complementary activities of the NIT for the transfer of technology.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"130 4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77447359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, the analysis of comments on the TripAdvisor website was developed, aiming at mapping important attributes, in the visitors’ point of view, from a qualitative approach, guided by principles of netnography in the city of Paranaguá/PR, Brazil. The period considered as the basis for the analysis extended between January 2018 and January 2020 in order to reflect the realistic perceptions of the normality experienced by visitors in relation to the attractions without the bias of the Covid 19 pandemic time. In order to determine the corpus analyzed in the present study, the attractions available in the “Essential in Paranaguá” option were considered, classified by TripAdvisor as “places to see; ways to explore and; typical experiences”. Data collection was performed manually, with a copy of each comment left on the platform being made to a text document. 112 comments were compiled into a single text document with 16 pages and 6258 words, which form the textual corpus. This corpus was analyzed using the free software Iramuteq, suitable for qualitative and quantitative analysis of texts, such as correspondence analysis, hierarchical classifications, similarity analysis and word clouds. This set of possibilities enabled a better understanding of the meanings, motivations and perceptions emanating from the texts that make up the interactions of users of the TripAdvisor website in relation to the attractions of the city. Preliminary analyzes reveal that ‘Ilha do Mel’ and ‘Ilha dos Valadares’ are the most prominent attractions. The Descending Hierarchical Classification of the text indicates the existence of 7 categories of perception with related and statistically significant terms in the Chi-Square test. It was noted that ‘Ilhai do Mel’ is perceived as a place that is \"worth\" to be visited and that it has positive reviews and full of tips on how visitors can enjoy the best options during their visit.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89564759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, a balance of living beings and the environment is necessary through environmental awareness. The research objectives are to obtain the profile of the analyzed schools, observing how EE is applied in the public network of the municipality, in order to create a manual of practices of applicability of Environmental Education in schools. The research was carried out in thirteen public schools in the city of Itacoatiara/Am. Authorizations were obtained for the visits, observing how the theme is applied in schools and whether they have environmental projects. After the visits, an online questionnaire was applied to teachers and students to detect the qualities and deficiencies of the schools. Finally, the profile of the schools was obtained in order to develop an interdisciplinary application manual in schools in the Amazon. As a result, it was found that public schools are more prepared to work on these themes, and in support of pedagogical resources, given the lack of municipal schools, which, in addition to the lack of material, do not have the application of environmental projects as in state schools in that all apply at least one. All teachers are interested in working in an interdisciplinary way, as the topics are only worked in the classroom and according to the students' results, they are not attractive. It is concluded that there are many deficiencies that need to be corrected, be they structural, pedagogical and material that could benefit the teaching of EE, and thus, make the practices more attractive to the students.","PeriodicalId":13726,"journal":{"name":"International journal for innovation education and research","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75042537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
