Different approaches focus on distinct aspects of the ontology development process and make use of various techniques for developing ontologies. It is an accepted fact that the ontology development process relies on human feedback and decisions during various phases of ontology development. However, most of the existing approaches neglect this aspect of ontology development. In order to bridge this gap, this paper proposes an ontology development approach using the concept mapping technique, which is human centered in nature. This approach eases the overall ontology development process. It allows developing ontologies which involve human feedback during the evolution of the ontology design.","PeriodicalId":135313,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Intellient Systems Design and Applications","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115355643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, based on the similar attributes of people, we are able to construct models which explain certain aspects of a persons behaviour. Moreover, we can extract user profiles based on behaviour and find latent ties between users and between different user groups with similar behaviours. We accomplish this by our new approach using the methods from log mining, business process analysis, complex networks and graph theory. The paper describes the whole process of the approach from the log file to the user graph. The main focus is on the step called `The finding of user behavioural patterns'.","PeriodicalId":135313,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Intellient Systems Design and Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133554129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, a novel insomnia/depression diagnostics approach is proposed, which is based on 2D distance transforms, and it is compared with the existing state-of-the-art insomnia/depression diagnostics approaches. Our new feature extraction method has proved its good performance and nice characteristics in other application areas and thus we will utilize its improved version in our proposal. We also present a 3D version of the utilized distance transforms and discuss their nice characteristics and great potential. The networks allow more than one interaction (or one relationship) between two entities. These are multi-relational networks. The existing tools dealing with social networks nowadays usually transform a multi-relational network into a single relational one and use the existing algorithms to process it. This might sometimes conduct to loss of generality. In this work we present an implementation of multirelational networks and basic operations required to compare two or more such networks. We consider practical examples from medicine and we compare three gene-gene interaction networks of representative genes for three types of related women cancers: breast, ovarian, and endometrial.","PeriodicalId":135313,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Intellient Systems Design and Applications","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123670895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the availability of a vast number of opinion features and classification techniques, review classification still remains a challenging task. In this work we applied stylometric features, i.e. lexical and syntactic, using supervised machine learning classifiers, i.e. Support Vector Machine (SVM) with Sequential Minimal Optimization (SMO) and Naive Bayes, to detect deceptive opinion. Detecting deceptive opinion by a human reader is a difficult task because spammers try to write wise reviews, therefore it causes changes in writing style and verbal usage. Hence, considering the stylometric features help to distinguish the spammer writing style to find deceptive reviews. Experiments on an existing hotel review corpus suggest that using stylometric features is a promising approach for detecting deceptive opinions.","PeriodicalId":135313,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Intellient Systems Design and Applications","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127117816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The importance of satisfying customer demands and achieving higher profits have increased the attention towards production scheduling in semiconductor assembly areas. Combination of productivity and flexibility provided by semiconductor assembly areas have attracted many research efforts for several years. Additionally, recent globalization events have encouraged decentralized efforts in the semiconductor assembly industry by implementing distributed systems. With respect to the previously mentioned problems, several approaches have been introduced namely Petri nets, Ant Colony, Genetic Algorithm, Intelligent Agents, and hybrids of the latter. A new model, using artificial immune system (AIS) algorithm, slightly modified to conform to the manufacturing constraints, has been proposed and tested with an industrial dataset to establish its effectiveness. AIS algorithm is chosen due to its inherent self-learning capability and memory incubation features. The results from the experiments conducted show that the proposed algorithm is effective for the aforementioned problems where the production schedule efficiency increased from 30% to 60%.","PeriodicalId":135313,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Intellient Systems Design and Applications","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122284872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Here the sclera segmentation is performed bya time-adaptive active contour-based region growing technique. The sclera vessels are not prominent so image enhancement is required and hence a bank of 2D decomposition. A Haar wavelet multi-resolution filter is used to enhance the vessels pattern for better accuracy. For feature extraction, Dense Scale Invariant Feature Transform (D-SIFT) is used. D-SIFT patch descriptors of each training image are used to form bag of features by using k-means clustering and a spatial pyramid model, which is used to produce the training model. Support Vector Machines (SVMs) are used for classification. The UBIRIS version 1 dataset is used here for experimentation. Search for knowledge in the form of video is the main focus of this study. In recent years, there has been a tremendous need to query and process large amount of data that cannot be easily described such as video data. There is a mismatch between the low-level interpretation of video frames and the way users express their information needs. This issue leads to the problem named semantic gap. To bridge semantic gap, concept-based video retrieval has been considered as a feasible alternative technique for video search. In order to retrieve a desirable video shot, a query should be defined based on users' needs. In spite of the fact that query can be on object, motion, texture, color and so on, queries which are expressed in terms of semantic concepts are more intuitive and realistic for end users. Therefore, a concept-based video retrieval model based on the combination of the knowledge-based and corpus-based semantic word similarity measures is proposed with respect to bridging semantic gap and supporting semantic queries. For evaluation purpose, TRECVID 2005 dataset is utilized as well.","PeriodicalId":135313,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Intellient Systems Design and Applications","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122546937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
