Seemingly appropriate pre-requisite knowledge is often forgotten, or was poorly learned, and theory is taught on the promise that it will be useful in future subjects. Computer system education methods are fundamentally anachronistic and ignore industry practices and activities. A single systems development subject amalgamating these distinct subject areas is suggested, and ultimately the course should advance students through a learning program based on a substantial, multi-year project of sufficient size and complexity to provide students with practical, hands-on, deep learning of the essential characteristics of systems development required in industry. The educational motif is comprised of three significant aspects: project based learning (encompassing problem based learning), student centred learning and continual assessment.","PeriodicalId":134413,"journal":{"name":"Int. With the emergence of a smart ecosystem, however, the competition over 4G technical standards is considered to be vital for securing the mobile operating systems and collaborations with participants within the ecosystem, such as the alliances between the devices and content providers. Thus, departing from the viewpoint that a mobile carrier-led network is required to make constant investments and improvements to help create a competitive advantage over the market. Hence, this study targets South Korea's mobile market, to analyse the different 4G mobile standard technologies that were simultaneously commercialised for the first time in the world, to examine the mobile carriers' strategies to dominate the 4G technical standards with the introduction of smartphones, and to provide implications derived from the study.","PeriodicalId":134413,"journal":{"name":"Int. The results highlight a number of factors accounting for the decline of Broadcast mobile TV (BMTV). These factors are summarised in terms of policies, markets, and technologies. In the initial and development stages, policies and business models were set mainly by the Korean government, making it difficult for the DMB market to sustain itself. However, the most profound impact in the long term has come from technological advances. The case of Korea's BMTV demonstrates how technological advances have influenced BMTV markets and caused profound consequences on mobile TV. Due to the generic characteristics of disruptive technologies, the Korean case will not be limited to a particular country. Overall, this paper contributes by providing implications for the future mobile TV and by adding another case to the literature of failure studies in the media industry.","PeriodicalId":134413,"journal":{"name":"Int. On the basis of classic segmentation algorithms, this research focuses on exploring volume-based segmentation solutions and property-oriented display mechanisms to assist with the decision-making stage involved in associated volume data manipulation works. As the resulting outputs of this design, the occlusion relationships embedded into volumetric space can be precisely oriented in the manner of visualised partition feature(s). This data visualisation process can be accomplished automatically based on the classified information. The storage management method of video proxy server is based on probabilistic parameters of a Markov model for selective saving of often-used video data. At the first step, the request orders of video data are sequentially identified and the bi-gram transition probability BTP of video is calculated using request orders. At the second step, the total probability or base probability is calculated using the created state transition model. Finally, the decision probability is calculated using the video data on the input queue when the storage size is insufficient. If the base probability is lower than the decision probability, we select the video data with the lowest conditional probability as a removal object in order to free up storage space of video proxy server.","PeriodicalId":134413,"journal":{"name":"Int. Variability that differentiates a product from others plays a pivotal role in SPL, together with commonality. Variability mechanisms have been suggested in many development approaches, and new mechanisms have been proposed in SPL approaches. This paper analyses the existing literature on potential variability mechanisms, and thereafter tries to determine the state of the practice and possible weaknesses in the practice. Such issues can be addressed if an efficient transcoder is designed that has smart access to multiple coding parameters and statistics of input video file. Therefore, the proposed system introduces a transcoding technique that considers performing large size video file in OFDM. The accomplishment of this technique is done using multi-level frame block partitioning, a tree-based approach that assist to have better formulation of non-rigid and complex mobility for evaluating non-translational mobility between blocks. Massively large size blocks are considered using standard dataset to perform an efficient transcoding. The results are evaluated for peak signal-to-noise ratio PSNR and bit rate for visualising the perceptual quality of the transcoded frames along with simultaneous comparison with frequently used prior work considering H.264 and Affine-16 standards.","PeriodicalId":134413,"journal":{"name":"Int. There are three fundamental techniques for indexing multimedia content: using textual information, using low-level information and combining different information extracted from multimedia. Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages as well to improve multimedia retrieval systems. The recent works are oriented towards multimodal approaches. In this paper, we propose an approach that combines the surrounding text with the information extracted from the visual content of multimedia and represented in the same repository in order to allow querying multimedia content based on keywords or concepts. Each word contained in queries or in description of multimedia is disambiguated using the WordNet ontology in order to define its semantic concept. Support vector machines SVMs are used for image classification in one of the defined semantic concept based on SIFT scale invariant feature transform descriptors.","PeriodicalId":134413,"journal":{"name":"Int.
