Analysis of such systems is a challenging task. It involves several steps from which one of the most important is investigation of influence of system components on system proper work. This investigation can be qualitative or quantitative. The qualitative analysis focuses on identification of conditions in which component degradation results in system deterioration. The quantitative analysis estimates probabilities of occurrences of such situations. In this paper, we propose a method for qualitative and quantitative analysis of topological properties of MSSs. The method is based on logical differential calculus and is implemented using multi-valued decision diagrams.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126898563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Typically a hierarchically configured control strategy is adopted, where primary level strategies perform the power control of devices connected to the microgrid. This paper analyzes and compares in simulation five operation modes of primary control strategies in islanded hybrid ac/dc microgrids. The results show that the use of multiple grid-forming units in the ac and dc network of the microgrid requires lower-size energy storage devices and the reliability of the microgrid is improved. The power management of the interface converter between networks is highlighted for improving the performance of the microgrid when different variations of frequency and voltage take place. It is shown that by applying a slightly higher control level strategy to this converter, power variations are shared among all the grid-forming devices and therefore voltage and frequency deviations are balanced.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121942962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This interface aims to drive a wheelchair by interpreting the movement of the head and the facial features as well, without hand generated commands. Hardware for the control interface is composed by the helmet with a webcam attached to it: the camera is pointed to the face of the user and the image sequence is acquired and processed in real-time. This paper focuses on the interpretation of commands given by the eyebrows movements. Following the detection of the eyes regions, eyebrows are segmented by a composition of the CIELab colorspace L and b bands, binarized by the classical Otsu thresholding. Tracking is done by computation and analysis of the vertical bit signature, extracted from the segmented eyebrow. The generation of move and stop commands have produced satisfactory results. The eyebrow tracking demonstrated to be accurate and robust in trepidation and different light conditions and users skin tones.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129005489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The association of the FESS to the wind generator is for regulating and fixing the power delivered to the grid. The stator of the DFIG is connected directly to the grid while the rotor is connected and controlled through a cycloconverter. The FESS connected between the wind generator and the grid is based on a doubly fed induction machine (DFIM) and controlled via another cycloconverter. The powers control of this system is realized using stator flux oriented control and cosine-wave crossing control techniques. To address these issues, more and more governments are implementing various programs and energy policies to accelerate the deployment of RES. The aforementioned two reasons lead to an urgent need to add new generating capacity or reduce consumption during peak periods, or both. The first option for power generation is to use RES which can inject electric energy to the grid while avoiding greenhouse gas emissions. However, the capacities of RES are not enough to supply all the required power from the side of the load. Facts that are leading to the proposal of original ways to reduce the use of energy in many sectors, namely in commercial, residential, and industrial sectors, in order to reduce the total energy costs of the consumer, to reduce the energy demand specially during on-peak hours and the greenhouse gas emissions while safeguarding end-user preferences. The aim of this paper is to determine the impact of model predictive control (MPC) on energy savings of residential households. Furthermore, the value and impact of generated power by local power sources, such as roof-top-solar, will be determined during off-peak, mid-peak, and on-peak, providing simulations during 24 hours in a house.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133381912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Companies can migrate the whole application together with its data, or move only data to some application or service that is already prepared in the cloud. Companies have challenges in either way. For the former, the company should redevelop its application to be applicable to the cloud architecture of the cloud service provider, while it should develop some adapter or make some data transformation for the latter. This paper focuses on the migration of the application along with its data and presents the development of scalable and portable system for e-ordering, which can be offered as a service in the cloud. The system orchestrates the resources dynamically and groups buyers and sellers according to the needs, thus reducing the database size and optimizing the cost and performance. Series of experiments are conducted to prove the scalability of the system hosted in the scalable Eucalyptus cloud framework. The results show a phenomenon, that is, superlinear improvement (greater than the scaled resources) of the performance while scaling the resources. The new architecture achieves speedup of up to 20 while scaling the resources only with factor four. Also, superlinearity appears in the number of handled requests.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131715046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To overcome the control problems involving coordination control schemes of multi-BESSs in real-time as well as optimized operation strategies of dc grids in long-term, this paper presents the adaptive coordinated droop control of multi-distributed battery energy storage systems in DC distribution grids. The adaptive coordinated droop is proposed to force real-time state of charge of BESS to track on the optimized scheduled state of charge (SOC) in long-term. Furthermore, in this approach, the energy storage units (ESUs) with higher SOC dispatch more power, while the ones with lower SOC dispatch less power. The SOC difference among ESUs exponentially reduces and finally the exchange power is equally shared between the distributed ESUs. Meanwhile, the exchange power share speed can be adjusted by changing the exponent of SOC in the adaptive coordinated droop control.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"664 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120881233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Counterfeiters may use for their products identifiers allocated for genuine handsets. Besides, forgery of the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is not too difficult for most of existing smartphones as their software which is the last source of IMEI before sending it to network is vulnerable to modifications. In this paper we argue that there is a need for developing of anti-cloning tool for the mobile devices, which efficacy should not depend on manufacturers. The basic requirements for the novel security architecture were formulated. We introduced “provable experience” authentication factor of mobile device which is dual with respect to the “social network” authentication factor of user. A novel method of multi-factor authentication of mobile device is proposed based on this, which allows effective blocking of clones in cellular networks and does not require standardization or changes in mobile device construction.","PeriodicalId":133824,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2015 - International Conference on Computer as a Tool (EUROCON)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126447723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
