This has lead the modern technological world to be considered as a virtual sphere interconnecting things using internet, being called the Cloud Computing where any object can communicate with any other object using a network such as the internet. The Cloud Computing makes it possible for end users to profit from the high speed and high performance of remote machines, and deploys a business where internet providers can implement distributed resources and services based on modern technologies to address the needs of the end users. In such paradigm, all components should work in a fashion to provide the best response time possible, one way of doing that is through load balancing algorithms. In this paper we propose a cloud load balancing algorithm that relates to the stochastic and random behavior of any networking system, we show as a result that we can achieve a game theoretic load balancing policy based on the samples of the load in time.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130738496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, its economic model based on demand of hardware and software according to technical criteria (CPU utilization, memory, bandwidth…) or package has strongly contributed to the liberalization of computing resources in the world. However, the development of Cloud computing requires the optimization of performance of the different services offered by Cloud providers in order to ensure a high level of security, availability and responsiveness. One major aspect for dealing with performance issues in Cloud computing is the load balancing. In fact, an efficient load balancing contributes to the decrease of costs and maximizes availability of resources. Through this paper, we study various research which has treated the load balancing in the Cloud computing. In a second step, we propose an improved load balancing architecture and algorithm for Cloud computing which aims to allow a better response time.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132402335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For example, information extracted from data gathered using mobile phones and embedded computers in buses and taxis could be used to understand city dynamics in real-time and therefore take mitigation actions. However, gathering and real-time processing of relevant information is still a challenging task. Complex-event processing (CEP) techniques and predictive analytics have been recently proposed for analyzing streaming data in real-time in order to generate fast insights and then take suitable actions according to the environment changes. The work presented in this paper focuses mainly on the performance evaluation of three CEP engines widely used by researchers for semantic and physical streaming data processing. Experiments have been conducted using existing benchmark tools and results are reported to shed more light on the performance these engines for stream data processing.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123390357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Providers tend to offer more complex web services through combining raw web services from the cloud. Therefore, a significant research problem is how to select the best candidate service from a collection of services and to take into account the respect of service level agreement made by the customer and the provider. In our paper, we propose a composition model based on SaaS that takes both QoS of service and cloud environment into consideration. We also propose a web service composition approach based on genetic algorithm for web services in order to minimize the SLA violations.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130190450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With its inherent requirements for elastic scalability and a pay-as-you-go pricing model, an additional level of complexity is added to its Quality of Service (QoS) management. This has made service provisioning more prone to performance anomalies due to the large-scale and evolving nature of Clouds. Existing methods for anomaly detection based on QoS monitoring in the Cloud rely on probabilistic methods, which are not computationally easy and are often valid for very short times before system dynamics change. We posit that more minimalistic approaches including automated techniques are needed for effective anomaly detection to support QoS enforcement in Clouds. In this paper, we present an automated anomaly detection scheme that recognises and adapts to changes in Clouds for efficient multi-metric performance anomaly detection to guarantee service quality. It includes a monitoring tool for collating performance data in real time for analysis and an anomaly detection technique based on an unsupervised machine learning strategy. Based on a Cloud service provisioning use case scenario, we evaluate our anomaly detection technique and compare it against two statistical anomaly detection approaches to demonstrate its efficiency.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123391251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In these networks we need to differentiate services or resources in order to provide a good performances to the prioritized data. Since the MAC layer is the responsible of managing the access to the shared medium, we need to handle the QoS at this layer in order to give more chance to nodes having high priority to get access to the medium before others. The lack of energy resources was behind the idea of alternating the transceiver between two modes; sleep and active modes. Though, this scheme is very efficient in terms of energy consumption, it causes high latency that degrades the QoS of real-time messages. In this paper we present a new policy that handles the energy constraint and the QoS of WSN designed for multipurpose applications. Our protocol intends to control the medium access of nodes according to the priority of their messages and reduce collision by using different random contention windows. Our results prove that our algorithm enhances quality of service in terms of prioritized message latency, as well as in other performance criteria.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124270544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mahmoudi","doi":"10.1109/CLOUDTECH.2016.7847705","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/CLOUDTECH.2016.7847705","url":null,"abstract":"Today, one can find images and videos everywhere, they can come from cameras, mobile phones or from other devices. These images and videos are used to illustrate different objects in a large number of situations (airports, hospitals, public areas, sport events, etc.). This makes the task of processing images and videos a necessary tool that can be used for various domains related to computer vision. The performance of these algorithms have been so reduced due to their high intensive computation and energy consumption. In this work, we propose a new framework that allows users to select in a smart and efficient way the computing units (CPU or/and GPU) in case of processing single image, multiple images, multiple videos or single video in real time. This framework enables to affect the CPU or/and GPU units for calculation depending on the type of media to process and the algorithm complexity. The framework provides several image and video functions on GPU, such as silhouette extraction, points of interest extraction, edges detection, sparse and dense optical flow estimation. These functions are exploited in different applications such as vertebra segmentation in X-ray and MR images, gaze estimation, event detection and localization in real time. Experimental results have been obtained by applying the framework for different use case applications showing a speedup ranging from 5 to 116×, by comparison with sequential CPU implementations. In addition to these performance, the parallel and heterogeneous implementation offered lower power consumption as a result for the fast treatment.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122385557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, it helps to predict and justify decisions concerning the supply chain management. This paper proposes an approach helping in the conception of a decision making process. This approach is centered on the product's data. These data are collected by an intelligent traceability system. The idea is a “Cloud-based” and a “Data-Oriented” solution. The process is built around three elements: data categorization on aspects, data circulation levels and data evolution stages. It presents different product's data according to their types, categories and final users. Also, it describes the role of cloud of things in integrating all data levels. Then, it classifies data into information, knowledge and wisdom. This classification helps users to take instant and right decisions.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126527467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many obstacles must be overcome, however, with regard to respect for privacy and patient safety. In order to ensure the respect for privacy, an encryption of data is required. An encryption that allows to compute over encrypted data without having to decrypt. In this paper we focus on cloud computing and its adoption in different domain, we describe the role of homomorphic encryption scheme for preserving privacy data sharing in the cloud and propose a system that ensures confidentiality of data by using partial homomorphic encryption algorithms.","PeriodicalId":133495,"journal":{"name":"2016 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (CloudTech)","volume":"9 1-2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132679198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
