The partial slip surface is optimized so that a maximum hydrodynamic load support could be obtained. The partial slip is applied on the stationary surface, the moving surface, and both of them. It is found that if the moving surface is designed as a partial slip surface, the system is in an unsteady state and no great importance exists in engineering applications. Controlling the partial slip surface of the stationary surface can give many advanced properties compared with the traditional no-slip contact, i.e., a large fluid load support in combination with low friction coefficient. It is also shown that partial slip surface gives the highest hydrodynamic pressure in a parallel slip gap, which is helpful to improve the operation stability of the system.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125385690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mathematical model which represents the dynamics of the rocket has parameters that are usually an approximation, this leads to uncertainty of empirical representations. In addition, wind disturbances can destabilize the movement of the rocket. In this paper, it is proposed the robust MIMO PID controller obtained by using the robust H∞ synthesis via integral backstepping method for rocket control problems. Synthesis of PID controllers using robust H8 methods in the form of state feedback results in integral backstepping structure and new parameter ρ. PID controller parameters are obtained via the algebraic Riccati equation solution to determine the optimum value of ρ and γ. The controller is tested through a simulation model of a rocket in flight conditions at altitudes of 1.000 meters to 10.000 meters with a wind disturbance and model uncertainties. Simulation results show that the wind disturbance attenuation reaches −46 dB at a frequency of disturbances and μ-analysis in the frequency domain shows that the system is stable robust.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"10 19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127448835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the raw EEG signal, there are plenty of information that may suggest many different activity in the brain. Time-based EEG analysis is required for quantify brain response in a very short time after the stimulus is applied. Single Trial Event-Related Potential (ERP) is commonly used to quantify effect of cognitive activity tied with time to EEG signal. The application of wavelet denoising in single trial ERP is used to analyze capability level from people who have perfect pitch ability based on P3 and N1 parameters. On experiments, EEG measurement was taken on Cz, T3, T4 point. EEG signal was recorded when subject heard pure tones with right pitch, with 10 cent shift, and 25 cent shift. From single trial processing of latency test we obtain that perfect pitch subject gave faster response on P3 component with 25 cent shift than non perfect pitch subject. Weak correlation was also found between P3 component on Cz measurement point and N1 component on T3 and T4 measurement point. From all three measurement points Cz measurement point gave the best consistency","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132192429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fuzzy controller is in the TSK form. The controller is trained during the control action due to cope with the plant changes. The most important aspects of this controller are first using couple of smaller controllers instead of a complete centralized one and second using the same framework that kiln operators use .i.e. the input variables that the controller use are the same input variables that the kiln operators use to control the same controlled variables. Joint together, decentralized fuzzy controller instead of a centralized fuzzy one has fewer parameters which need less memory and processing power of the controller. The proposed controller is tested on a simulator model which made on the real data of Saveh cement factory. The simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131288037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this system, unique characteristics of thermal images were employed to detect the pedestrian along the roadway in varied conditions. Newly distribution of temperature regions, where correlation of the center point and the center of gravity point, or the centroid of these regions were calculated subsequently in order to extract pedestrian thermal regions in images. The processes were conducted following threshold method and noise filtering of initial image. The 3-valued threshold and labeling process were applied to the initial image to divide thermal area into four main temperature regions. The experiments were conducted under four conditions; numerous pedestrian, single pedestrian and oncoming car, overlapping pedestrian and occluded pedestrian. The subjects were classified by calculating pixel ratio of thermal regions, average luminance within divided temperature regions, and correlation among the centroid of each thermal region. Results of the experiments are encouraging. In particular, the proposed intelligent recognition system utilizes feasible and low-cost approach, compared to prior works.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115778245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An optimization problem is formulated that consists of finding the control voltage applied to distributed piezoelectric patch actuators which suppresses the transient displacements and velocities of plates with least control effort. The solution method is based on a combination of eigenfunction expansion and variational approaches. The method of eigenfunction expansion is used to transform the equation of motion into a number of coupled ordinary differential equations. By utilizing the variational theory an explicit optimal control law is derived and the determination of the corresponding displacement and velocity is reduced to solving a set of ordinary differential equations. The effectiveness of the methodology is demonstrated by applying it to a square plate subjected to a single actuator.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117033279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally, PI controllers are used in these systems to achieve the desired strip thickness. The major problem of this controller is its high sensitivity to parameters variations and external disturbances. This is due to the complex structure and highly nonlinear dynamic model of these systems. In this paper a novel fuzzy adaptive PI controller is proposed, as a remedy to this problem. This controller is designed on the basis of professional knowledge to tune PI parameters in proportion to thickness error, thickness error change rate, and desired exit thickness. A dynamic mathematical model of the system is derived whose accuracy is confirmed through practical tests and then the performance of the proposed controller for a real cold mill is evaluated by model-based simulation. The influences of parameters perturbation is taken into account. Simulation results show that the response speed and robustness of the fuzzy adaptive PI controller are much better than the traditional PI scheme.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129897563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Torque and force disturbances are inherent in this type of actuators. Major disturbances are mainly due to static and dynamic imbalances. These imbalances must be reduced since they degrade the control quality of spacecraft attitude. This paper gives attention to the reduction of the static imbalance. A reaction wheel for small satellite is considered. Torque/force measurement table is used to measure the disturbance of the reaction wheel. An identification method for the location and magnitude of the imbalance is suggested, and the corrections of the imbalance are performed using balancing method. Through balancing, the static imbalance is remarkably reduced.","PeriodicalId":132474,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation Control and Automation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128815300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speaker recognition can be used to secure the web page which need high security level. In this research, the speaker recognition system at web page was successfully built for login authentication security. For enrollment and verification need, speech signal from clients was recorded in 35 seconds for enrollment and 10 seconds for verification then transferred to server by network. Then this signal will be processed with Sampling, Frame Blocking, Windowing Hamming and Discrete Fourier Transform. The signal in frequency domain will be filtered by Nonlinear Power Spectral Subtraction to reduce background noise. For identification, the system extracts the feature of Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC), and to build the model of these features uses Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM). To improve the security level, the system uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with 1024 bits RSA encryption. From this research, we have succeeded in optimizing the signal quality up to 5 dB SNR, the mean error recognition level of FAR is about 23.3% and FRR 27.5 and the maximum accuracy of recognition system is around 88% when the quality of speech signal is clean.
