However, academic literature has limitedly discussed principles of material development courses to deal with contemporary global citizenship education and education 5.0 era. This article proposes a conceptual framework to encourage material development in EFL student teachers at the undergraduate level. The study starts with the justification of the gap between classrooms and contemporary society portraits. To fill this niche, this conceptual study draws on Widodo et al. (2022) regarding the framework for language material development and diversity in ELT proposed by Banegas et al. (2021) to offer a conceptual model for EFL teachers and material developers. Hopefully, the concept helps EFL practitioners design learning materials purposively accommodating diversity and inclusivity for foreseeable global citizens.","PeriodicalId":131739,"journal":{"name":"Makna: Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi, Bahasa, dan Budaya","volume":"18 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140426642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different fandoms, of course, affect their language patterns respectively, because the neologisms that are formed can represent the identity of each fandom. K-Pop fandom itself has a wide community all over the world that is connected through a virtual network. Twitter is a virtual data network platform used by many members of the K-Pop fandom. To find out about at what level neologism in K-Pop fandom on Twitter is formed, the data are collected by sampling tweets of Twitter users who are part of three K-Pop boy group fandom namely Seventeen, Stray Kids and Treasure, who use Vocabulary, Orthography, Grammar and Pragmatic in their tweets using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings reveal that some language aspects in K-Pop fandom share different knowledge from the regular language. The results show that the K-Pop fandom community tend to create neologisms based on the identity of the specific idol they like, not only within the K-Pop fandom itself, which makes it unique. Data was collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews conducted via online Zoom meetings, utilizing three main open-ended questions to delve deeper into participants' experiences. The obtained data was analyzed using the Stevick-Colaizzi-Kenn technique, as described by Moustakas (1994). The analysis revealed four themes, including positive perception, negative perception, the features of Tophonetics, and the obstacles of using Tophonetics. The findings suggest that students in the English Department perceive Tophonetics positively in terms of improving their pronunciation of fricative sounds, highlighting the potential benefits of integrating this application into language teaching and learning practices.","PeriodicalId":131739,"journal":{"name":"Makna: Jurnal Kajian Komunikasi, Bahasa, dan Budaya","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121738180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
