The stabilizing signal is obtained from phasor measurement units (PMUs) located in all areas of test power system. Residue analysis is carried out to decide the best control signals for damping of critical mode. H∞ loop shaping technique is used to design the damping controller. Various load models representing the different composition of loads are considered for checking the robustness of the designed controller. Robustness of the designed controller is assessed in frequency domain and via non linear time domain simulations for various contingent conditions. Virtual machine placement goal maximizing the usage of available resources and saving of power being shut down some unused physical machines. After studying different Virtual Machine placement techniques in the data center, there is wastage of resources in Multi-dimensionality of the physical machine and in maximum resource allocation, which results from the imbalanced use of the multi-dimensional resource. To overcome the utilization problem, we have proposed Cartesian Coordinate System Based placement. The fundamental idea behind cloud computing is to distribute an array of computing services by unifying and scheduling a pool of computing resources, thereby minimizing the burden on the users and helping them focus on their core businesses. These computing resources are hosted on virtual hosts and distributed on-demand to the users by cloud service providers. For efficient resource utilization, systematic load balancing of incoming user traffic across virtual hosts is imperative. In the present work a Distributed Dynamic and Customized Load Balancing (ddclb) algorithm is proposed to dynamically handle the incoming user requests for the Amazon EC2 instances. It is also used to dynamically scale the EC2 instances up or down depending on load of incoming user requests on the instances and the CPU utilization of the instances. Along with it a distributed load balancer architecture is proposed to support and implement the proposed algorithm. In this paper well established artificial intelligent algorithms viz cuckoo search (CS) method; Particle swarm optimization (PSO) and Modified PSO are used to solve a multi-objective optimal power flow (OPF) problem. Some modifications in PSO are carried to enhance its efficiency and search ability. Here combined composite function of fuel cost and emission minimization has been considered. These two objectives are combined into single function of cost with the help of price factor and weight ratios. All three methods are implemented on IEEE 30-bus 6-Generator system and simulation results are compared. Real-time sensors are deployed under the ocean to fetch real time measurements of parameters. Our research describes the work with respect to ocean wave-height parameter to predict a wave displacement. Waves in oceans are continuously moving and thus measuring the accurate movements of waves is complex. Waves get dispersed in the ocean, but their vibrations remain in the ocean. Numerous techniques are available for developing prediction systems, with their own strengths and weaknesses. The paper demonstrates the concepts and experimentation of prediction system developed using string equation to find wave displacement. Past research suggests image processing on images generated from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data are the most suitable way of remote oil spill detection. In this paper, the framework for oil spill detection is explained in three step process for oil spill detection viz., dark spot detection, feature extraction, and classification. The paper focuses on Hysteresis algorithm for segmenting the dark spots and decision tree for the classification of dark spots and look alikes. Measurements used for load flow and state estimation are important for economical operation, optimal power flow, contingency analysis and security of a system. Measurements may be imperfect or erroneous due to problems in the communication channel, measuring instruments, A/D converters etc. Erroneous measurements can lead to divergence of load flow and/or erroneous load flow results. Hence, authors propose state estimation as an alternative to load flow in case of erroneous measurement data. In the paper presented, effect of bad measurement data on load flow has been verified on single machine two bus system and WSCC 3-generator 9-bus multi-machine system for stable and transient conditions. Using chi-square bad data detection algorithm, detected bad data are removed and states are estimated with remaining measurements. There are 23,109 PHCs in India and Under the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) the Government is upgrading all the PHCs. Due to shortage of human resources, PHC system largely depends on \"referral system\", which in turn relies heavily on communication and transportation infrastructure. Communication and transportation put an upper limit on health care delivery to patient and some time it may cause casualties in remote areas. Development of Low cost Biomedical Sensors, Low cost Portable Embedded System, Internet and Smart phone based Telemedicine System may offer the opportunity to alleviate the health care system efficiency by number of application viz. data collection, chronic patient surveillance, to control the therapeutic procedure etc. This paper presents the work of design and implementation of low cost telemedicine system, which integrates the sensing, storage and broadcasting of various biomedical parameters of patient using low cost low weight and accurate biomedical sensors, BeagleBone Black as a computing unit and various softwares viz. Linux, Apace Server, MySQL and PHP.
