From various definitions of collocation we chose as the basis for the study the following: a collocation is a statistically stable word combination consisting of two and more words, one of which is translated and the others are restricted and dependent on the choice of the former, composing a set of meaning and a set of translations. The author considers different types of collocations and a possibility of their translation into a foreign language. Occasional collocations are not frequently present in the corpus and can not be checked via corpora while translating, that is why they are of special interest. The author collected a set of examples with this type of collocation and showed the possibility of their translation using corpora and functional-semantic analysis. To consider the means of linguistic actualization of tolerance and aggression in migration discourse using the example of the concept of HIJAB. Methodology. Using the contextual method, a free associative experiment, the analysis of the HIJAB concept is realized. Results. The main results of the study confirm the need to study the conceptual field of MIGRATION in the aspect of identifying concepts, attributes, symbols that are relevant for migrants, which play the role of markers of aggression, on the one hand, and tolerance, on the other. Research implications. Purpose is to study the ways of achieving maximum comic impact when transferring wordplay into a target language. Methodology and Approach. The author has conducted a detailed analysis of techniques for recreat-ing wordplay by using language units from Chekhov's play „The Bear“. This has been achieved by means of the method of contextual analysis and the comparative method. Results. Distinctive qualities of Chekhov's literary style in terms of humorous content are occasional phraseological units and occasional lexemes. In translating, the highest priority is assigned to the form provided that comic impact is preserved. The purpose of the work is the analysis of linguistic features of television informational media texts. The author points out that alongside the informational function media texts carry out the pragmatic function, namely, they manipulate the public opinion. Besides, there is a definition of the media text and some considerations concerning its specific features as compared to other types of media texts, i.e., wide audience, video image, etc. British Broadcasting Corporation media texts have been chosen by the author as the object of analysis. A number of examples from recent BBC media texts are given and their analysis is conducted. The author states that alongside the text structure and the choice of material itself much attention should be paid to linguistic means: lexical, syntactical and prosodic. Требования как к членам диссертационных советов, так и к уровню защищаемых в советах диссертаций чрезвычайно высоки. Докторский диссертационный совет Д 212.155.04, созданный 25 лет назад на базе МГОУ (в то время МПУ) и работающий на лингвистическом факультете ИЛиМК МГОУ, проводит защиты по двум наиболее востребованным лингвистическим специальностям: 10.02.19 – теория языка и 10.02.20 – сравнительно-историческое, типологическое и сопоставительное языкознание. Основной стержень совета составляют известные учёные, сотрудники лингвистического и романо-германского факультетов ИЛиМК МГОУ – доктора филологических наук, профессора И. И. Валуйцева, Н. Г. Епифанцева, И. Г. Жирова, М. Н. Левченко, О. И. Максименко, В. В. Ощепкова, Л. А. Телегин, Г. Т. Хухуни и многие другие, и представители других вузов Москвы – доктора наук, профессора Е. А. Красина (РУДН), А. А. Лебедева (ВГЮУ (РПА) Министерства юстиции России), А. А. Осипова (МГПУ), Л. К. Свиридова (МГПУ), О. П. Крюкова (НИУ МИСиС). В 2019 г. в совет было представлено и защищено 20 диссертаций, из них 3 докторских, по самому широкому диапазону тем, отражающих состояние современной лингвистики. Так, в докторской диссертации Н. А. Ахреновой (10.20.19, научный консультант профессор О. И. Examples are given to show how partial arbitrariness of language signs’ usage augments the natural language functional potential. A conclusion is drawn that partial arbitrariness of language signs, arising from the combination of their partial motivation and partial conventionality, gives natural language flexibility, semantic mobility and situational adaptability.
