Das LWF ist eine Fachtagung zu trinkwasserrelevanten Fragestellungen, die von der Landeswasserversorgung (LW) alle zwei Jahre veranstaltet wird und den direkten Bezug zur Laborund Wasserwerkspraxis herstellt. Die Herausforderung der Corona-Pandemie aufgreifend wurde das LWF erstmals als Hybrid-Veranstaltung mit Webkonferenz und Präsenztagung veranstaltet.
