The proposed method is based on the combination of two methods like the sensitivity analysis and continues power factor method. The simulated method is done on the Matlab environment by applying in the 16-bus distribution system. Therefore, power companies are constantly seeking new ways to create more effective cable termination designs. In order to improve cable termination design, it is required to understand the nature of weak points at the cable end. Partial discharge measurement is a non-destructive measurement method, which can be used to access insulation quality. Therefore, this work investigates partial discharge severity of unterminated cable ends under various conditions to observe the strongest factor that degrades the insulation quality at the cable end. The purpose of this study is to investigate the electric field behaviour of 33kV polymer type insulator under different weather conditions by mean humidity and pollution. In addition, outdoor service environments of the insulator were reviewed as they are realized to have worldwide issues on degradation of polymeric material. Using 2D simulation, the electric field was found higher nearer to the end fittings whereby increased up to 38.89% under humidity and pollution. Also, the electric field behaviour along the cross section of weathersheds increased up to 661.59% under humidity and 547.30% under pollution. Meanwhile the weak points along the insulator were identified according to the magnitude of electric field strength. Such machines have applications as turbogenerators and synchronous motors. One machine with an equivalent model is the divided winding rotor synchronous generator, which is a round rotor machine that was proposed by Soper and Fagg. A methodology that utilizes elimination theory is used to develop the nonlinear parameter identification technique. The proposed scheme analyses the absolute values of three phase current signals over a half cycle to obtain detail coefficients. These detail coefficients of half a cycle are compared with those of previous half cycle to compute alienation coefficients which are further utilized to detect and classify the faults. The proposed technique was able to discriminate non-fault transients such as capacitance, inductance and load switching, from fault transients. The increase in the sensitivity of protection scheme, due to utilization of wavelet based detail decomposition, has been established by case studies. The proposed algorithm is tested for different locations and various types of faults. However, flashover fault still occurs on this insulator type. Under certain conditions, partial discharges may occur on the insulator and lead to a complete flashover. The flashover can cause the breakdown and damage the whole power system. Therefore, this paper reports on the flashover voltage of 11kV composite insulator under different conditions. They are pollution methods, insulator surface condition, water content, operating orientations and the ambient temperature. It was found that the flashover voltage can be improved by using 0° operating orientation angle of the insulator, at lower temperature, dry condition, less insulator surface roughness and no pollution on the insulator. Using the clean energy such as solar energy generation is growing around word, but with low efficiency. Many parameters from the environment affect the solar photovoltaic panel such as shadow, air pollution and dust. In some experimental setup, there is a small layer that accumulates on top of the photovoltaic (PV). In order to evaluate the effect of dust on Photovoltaic, using two Fix Flat Photovoltaic (FFP) was installed at the Universiti Putra Malaysia. One array is the “Clean array” that was cleaned regularly and other is the “Dusty array” that was not cleaned during this research. Data was collected at interval each of 30mins from 1st April to 5th December 2013 for both arrays. Power output and Energy yield for both PV arrays are considered. Findings from this research shows that overly power and energy decrease due to the dust, which accumulates on the surface. In this paper, we present a system in which a wireless sensor network is used for continuous wirelessly monitoring contamination in high voltage insulators. The new system consists of different sensor nodes (e.g. humidity, temperature and dust) mounted on a dummy insulator that has to be placed close to high voltage substation or transmission line tower. The proposed approach is based on the Equivalent Salt Deposit Density (ESDD) severity method in order to check the pollution level on the insulator and to correlate with flashover voltage levels of the insulator string. In this approach, the photons measurement level (i.e. light intensity) is adopted as an indicator to the accumulated pollution level on the insulators. Extensive lab tests were carried out using different pollutants. ESDD measurements have been collected for all the pollution tests performed in the lab and a relationship between these values and the light intensity values has been established to correctly model the contamination level. This paper discusses the design, electronic control system and the algorithm based on the astronomical equation. The tracking system utilizes the GPS module and a digital compass sensor for determining the location and the heading feedback of the system respectively. Moreover, the microcontroller based tracking system is embedded with a PID controller for which will increase the PV positioning accuracy based from the feedback signal of the absolute encoder.
