One of the well-known regions is the Garo Hills from where over 35-40 sites have been reported since 1960s. These sites are predominantly Neolithic in nature (on the basis of tool typology), with a few pre-Neolithic ones (which have been highly debated). This paper deals with the lithics found in one site, Misimagre, in the Rongram-Ganol valley where over 240+ tools were recovered from exploration, and 6900+ artifacts collected from a 1x1 test pit. The paper details the type of tools recovered and makes an attempt to analyse the techniques involved in making them. What was found interesting was the coming together of two different early Holocene traditions at Misimagre – a microlithic tradition and a Hoabinhian tradition at the same location. The former is a pan-Indian / world phenomenon while the latter is a typical Southeast Asian phenomenon.","PeriodicalId":125575,"journal":{"name":"Anthropology and Ethnology Open Access Journal","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121699203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that older mothers were significantly heavier than younger mothers in terms of both body weight (p < 0.01) and BMI (p < 0.01), and the relation between age and BMI was positively significant (p < 0.01). The prevalence of underweight was about 15% and 12% among the younger and older mothers, respectively; whereas the prevalence of overweight exceeded that of underweight, and it was statistically higher (p < 0.01) in older mothers (34%) than in their younger counterparts (25%). The prevalence of hypotension was about 16% among mothers below 30 years old, which was significantly higher than among older mothers (p < 0.001). However, older mothers had a higher prevalence of prehypertension and hypertension compared to younger mothers (p < 0.001). The marginal effects of socioeconomic status on age-adjusted blood pressure in terms of household income and educational levels were not statistically significant. The regression analysis indicated a non-linear relationship between BMI and blood pressure. It was found that younger women had on average lower age-adjusted blood pressure than those with normal BMI. However, the effect of being underweight on age-adjusted blood pressure disappeared when overweight was included in the model, indicating that overweight women had on average higher age-adjusted blood pressure than underweight women in the present study. Therefore, it is likely that the positive correlation between BMI and blood pressure may predominantly be due to elevated blood pressure at higher BMI levels, especially in populations with decreasing proportion of underweight due to a rapid increase in overweight and obesity. Our findings may also have certain implications for the relation between underweight and other adverse health outcomes of undernutrition in less developed countries.","PeriodicalId":125575,"journal":{"name":"Anthropology and Ethnology Open Access Journal","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128793200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main one of the work is related to the importance of the relationship between flora and human groups located in the place, being evidenced by the rock scenes found in the rocky walls. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the importance of the scenography of the ritual of the tree for the human societies that inhabited the place, the magic of nature may have been a religious power used by local leaders, as a way of maintaining control of their society and threatening your enemies. The methodology used in the development of this work was: 1st) bibliographic and documental research, based on publications that deal with the theme; 2nd) field research, based on investigations in archaeological sites in the Serra da Capivara National Park. Finally, the study of the magic of nature in the ritual scene of trees can contribute to the understanding of the religious aspects of human societies that inhabited the place in the past.","PeriodicalId":125575,"journal":{"name":"Anthropology and Ethnology Open Access Journal","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115538042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
