This new wireless delivery method is proposed as a complementary system in providing the next generation services in which the technology basically employs CDMA. In HAPs communication, the channel is predicted to have different characteristic compared to that in terrestrial channel. In this work, HAPs channel is modeled to follow Ricean fading distribution whose K factor is obtained based on experimental measurement. Fixed step power control algorithm is then computer simulated under such a channel to evaluate its performance. The performance is presented in terms of step size of the power control, users elevation angle, feedback delay, and SIR estimation error. We found the performance of fixed step closed loop power control in HAPs channel increases with the increase of step size and elevation angle. Feedback delay has insignificant effect to the power control performance. The CRB on DOA estimation of UWB-OFDM sources is evaluated by extending the mathematical model of DOA estimation of narrow band signals to wideband orthogonal multicarrier signals. Specific results are presented for the case of a uniform linear array (ULA) and line-of-sight (LOS) scenario. The support in business and private activities will take place through the userpsilas own personal network consisting of a core Personal Area Network (PAN) extended with clusters of remote devices which could be private, shared, or public and able to adapt to the quality of the network accessed. The extended PAN with its cluster communication with another PN forms a Federation of Personal Networks (PN-F). PN-F is a secure cooperation between different PNs, making services and resources available for the purpose of achieving a common goal, increasing the security requirements and challenges. The communication in this scenario can happen in various places (home, work, public places), involving various types of network infrastructure, between various types of hardware, and exchanging any kind of service. Context aware security manager (CASM) has been proposed to solve the PN security issue, putting all the security decision in the gateway between PAN and cluster or PN and another PN. CASM relies on providing security policy based on the context being given by user. So far, algorithm regarding how to input the context has not yet been defined. Furthermore, how CASM react upon the context in deciding what security action should be performed has also not yet been elaborated. This paper will analyze the impact of context to security. Including the loss of orthogonality between data and pilot pulses caused by the UWB multipath channel, a closed-form bit-error-rate expression is derived, and verified by comparisons with simulation results. The basic idea is that with cognitive radio techniques the WLAN devices can not only access the legacy WLAN unlicensed spectrum but opportunistically access any other under-utilized licensed spectrum without a license. The application scenario of C-CSMA/CA is infrastructure BSS (Basic Service Set) WLAN. C-CSMA/CA efficiently exploits the inherent characteristics of CSMA/CA to design distributed cooperative outband sensing to explore spectrum hole; moreover, it designs dual inband sensing scheme to detect primary user appearance. Additionally, C-CSMA/CA has the advantage to effectively solve the cognitive radio self-coexistence issues in the overlapping CR BSSs scenario. It also realizes station-based dynamic resource selection and utilization. It is compatible with any legacy WLAN (BSS) system. We develop and implement the simulation of C-CSMA/CA by OPNET. The effect of multipath and shadowing introduces ambiguity into the readings, leading to a range of distances that can be inferred from a single measurement. This contribution highlights the frequency dependancy of these effects. Lower and upper bounding constraints are introduced to achieve an practical operational range and mitigate the possibility of ambiguous RSS measurements. In the results section we verify our theoretical limits with practical based experimental results. The CFO values of different users are first estimated from the received decomposed signal using the best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE). The CFOs effects are then compensated based on the estimated values and also taking advantage of an iterative parallel interference cancellation (PIC) scheme. A novel contribution of this paper is introducing an iterative concatenated estimation and compensation algorithm for suppressing the residual interference due to imperfect estimators. The introduced method is successful where the estimator converges after only one iteration with a significant improvement in estimation accuracy. Consequently, results from a Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15.1) wearable wireless network for augmented reality (AR) show a consistent reduction in energy consumption compared to Bluetooth FEC schemes. AR relies on video transmission across a wearable network. Block-based rateless coding resulted in around 5 dB improvement compared to block-based FEC in video quality at a head-mounted display in the face of worsening channel conditions. This device discovery procedure needs extra signaling and costs considerable time, especially if there are a lot of devices. In this paper, on top of IEEE 802.15.3 MAC, we introduce the ultra superframe concept and propose an on-demand device discovery mechanism that significantly reduces signaling overhead, therefore speeds up the device discovery process and increases channel efficiency.
