O’Hanlon","doi":"10.22323/1.377.0022","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22323/1.377.0022","url":null,"abstract":"Violation of charge-parity ($C!P$) symmetry in the Standard Model is driven by a single global phase, however manifestations of $C!P$ violating quantities are often non-trivial due to the role of the strong interaction in generating observable $C!P$ violation effects. Here we explore how the role of the strong phase in $B^+ rightarrow pi^+pi^+pi^-$ decays, described by the intermediate resonance structure and final-state rescattering effects, governs the manifestation of large $C!P$ violation. Significant $C!P$ violation is observed in the scalar and tensor contributions, along with the first observation of $C!P$ violation in the interference between two competing decay amplitudes. Additionally $P$ and $C!P$ violation are tested for in the phase-space of $Lambda_b^0 rightarrow p^+pi^-pi^+pi^-$ decays using model-independent triple-product asymmetry and energy-test methods, with a first observation of $P$ violation in $b$-baryon decays.","PeriodicalId":125063,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 18th International Conference on B-Physics at Frontier Machines — PoS(Beauty2019)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125206002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Charm decays 魅力衰变

{"title":"Charm decays","authors":"Ulrich Nierste","doi":"10.22323/1.377.0048","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22323/1.377.0048","url":null,"abstract":"I discuss hadronic decays of $D$ mesons with emphasis on the recent discovery of charm CP violation in $D^0to K^+K^-,pi^+pi^-$ decays. The measured difference $Delta a_{CP} , equiv ; a_{CP}^{mathrm{dir}}(D^0rightarrow K^+K^-) - a_{CP}^{mathrm{dir}}(D^0rightarrowpi^+pi^-) = ; (-15.4pm 2.9)cdot 10^{-4}$ of two direct CP asymmetries exceeds the SM prediction by a factor of 7. A possible explanation is an enhancement of the penguin amplitude entering $ a_{CP}^{mathrm{dir}}$ by QCD effects which are not understood yet. Alternatively, $Delta a_{CP}$ could be dominated by contributions from new physics. In order to distinguish these two hypotheses further CP asymmetries should be measured. To this end CP asymmetries resulting from the interference of two tree-level amplitudes auch as $a_{CP}^{mathrm{dir}}(D^0rightarrow K_SK_S)$ or $a_{CP}^{mathrm{dir}}(D^0 to K^{*0} K_S)$ are especially interesting.","PeriodicalId":125063,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 18th International Conference on B-Physics at Frontier Machines — PoS(Beauty2019)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125173218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its branching fraction is measured to be B(Lambda_b -> Lambda gamma) = (7.1 +- 1.5 +- 0.6 +- 0.7) 10^{-6}, where the quoted uncertainties are statistical, systematic and systematic from external inputs, respectively. \u0000 \u0000A time-dependent analysis of the Bs -> phi gamma decay rate is performed to determine the CP-violating observables S and C, and the mixing-induced observable Adelta. The measurement is based on a sample of pp collision data recorded with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 1/fb at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The measured values are S= 0.43 +- 0.30 +- 0.11, C= 0.11 +- 0.29 +- 0.11, Adelta = -0.67 +0.37 -0.41 +- 0.17, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The results are consistent with the Standard Model predictions.","PeriodicalId":125063,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 18th International Conference on B-Physics at Frontier Machines — PoS(Beauty2019)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124580391","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Special focus is given to the calculation of form factors for semi-leptonic decays of $B_{(s)}$ and $D$ mesons, the extraction of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements $|V_{ub}|$ and $|V_{cb}|$ as well as the determination of $R(D^{(*)})$ testing the universality of lepton flavors in $bto c$ transitions. In addition we report on the determination of $b$ and $c$ quark masses as well as on neutral $B_{(s)}$ meson mixing. Recent results are summarized and new developments highlighted.","PeriodicalId":125063,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 18th International Conference on B-Physics at Frontier Machines — PoS(Beauty2019)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116757892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rare kaon decays and CP violation 罕见的介子衰变和CP破坏

Pich","doi":"10.22323/1.377.0027","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22323/1.377.0027","url":null,"abstract":"Owing to the strong suppression of flavour-changing neutral-current transitions in the Standard Model, rare kaon decays constitute a superb tool to constrain hypothetical new-physics interactions. At the same time, they provide many interesting tests of the Standard Model itself, being sensitive both to short-distance electroweak scales and to the long-distance QCD dynamics. A brief overview of the current status is presented. The Standard Model prediction for the direct CP-violating ratio $varepsilon'/varepsilon$ is also discussed.","PeriodicalId":125063,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 18th International Conference on B-Physics at Frontier Machines — PoS(Beauty2019)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115347406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
