Therefore, it is very important to periodically update the coefficients of fuel cost characteristics in order to reflect changes in operating conditions and ensure economic operation of power systems. This paper proposes a novel application of differential evolution (DE) algorithm for estimating the optimal parameters of fuel cost curves of thermal units. The estimation problem is converted into a minimization problem, where the objective function is the total absolute error to be minimized. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated through several test cases using different models of the generator fuel cost curve. The results of the proposed approach are compared with other methods published in the literature. The unrelenting pace of innovations and increasing complexity of technology renders the relationship between safety and social factors even more intricate and more fundamental to our understanding of the root causes of incidents and accidents. However, there's rarity of research about social factors' influence on safety, or how to ensure the safety of products, systems & processes/services in different cultural settings. The current research defines culture as a collective emergence from a human group or society, which can influence the design, operation and sustainability of the safe performance of products, systems and processes/services. Even though the serious efforts to standardize and capitalize practices in order to enhance software engineering processes, we are still in need of a more efficient way to manage concurrent and collaborative engineering. This problem became more obvious with the emergence of global software engineering requiring the coordination of international teams. The question of collaboration has been studied on many levels: Internal versus external collaboration, mutual versus exclusive collaboration... While there are practical solutions to improve teams' coordination, a consistent approach integrating collaboration in the early stages of the software process engineering is still required. In this paper, we consider the impact of coordination and collaboration on the efficiency of processes and identify three main goals for a solution to meet: Process state management, process orchestration, and process validation. Then, we propose our solution COLSEF (COLlaborative Software Engineering Framework) as a consistent and global solution constructed around a metamodel for software process engineering. Its modeling will be described by using Newton Euler equations. In order to control the attitude and altitude of the Quadcopter, two approaches have been proposed for adjusting the parameters of a PID controller. Firstly, the PD controller gains are fixed in an optimal way by using reference model method. In the second approach these parameters are adapted online based on fuzzy logic. Matlab/Simulink has been used to test and compare the performance of the controllers obtained. In order to improve the security of a Cloud Data Center (CDC) in particular, system availability, a proactive approach named SCIT (Self-Cleansing Intrusion Tolerance) may be adopted to the CDC. In this paper, we present a general analytic model of the SCIT approach for the CDC. We first introduce an architecture and its flow of an intrusion tolerant CDC. We focus on a SCIT approach for a virtual machine (VM) in a CDC. We model and implement the SCIT in SHARPE (Symbolic Hierarchical Automated Reliability and Performance Evaluator) and carry out numerical analysis. More exactly, it is a 3-processor MPSoC, where in principle, on one hand 2 slaves deal with some analysis of the signals of the 12-lead ECG standard and on another hand a master controls and coordinates the whole system. The Xilinx soft processor MicroBlaze is used as elementary processor and the 2 slaves communicate with the master by means 2 mailboxes via PLB bus. Due to the limited features of the available board at the time of experimentations, namely the Nexys 3 from Digilent featuring Xilinx SPARTAN 6 XC6SLX16 FPGA device, only a reduced software is tested, successfully, with the local memory of the used FPGA board. We have used different ECG signals from Physiobank databases for this qualitative evaluation of the proposed system. Our methodology is founded on creation a good CIM level, through well-chosen rules, for facilitating models transformation to PIM level. However, we establish a rich PIM level via state machine, class and package models. Next, we describe a set of transformation rules to ensure a semi-automatic transformation from CIM to PIM. Our method conform MDA approach by taking into consideration the business dimension in the CIM level, since, we present this level by using activity diagram who is one of standards of business modeling.
