However, these interactions are mostly limited to single input and output schemes, thus loosing a lot of additional information a human communication partner would sense, Multimodality was perceived to exactly tackle this point. This paper describes a framework and approach to operate multimodal interaction mechanisms in both the fixed as well as the mobile environments. The paper describes a scheme that facilitates the dynamic binding and release of user-interface devices (such as screens, keyboards, etc.) to support multimodal interactions in mobile environments and to enable the user to 'make use' of any possible user interface device available (and allowed), thus supporting the individuals changing communication environment. The principles and basic functionality of an adaptive multimodal human interface-device binding engine are outlined.","PeriodicalId":120577,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2005. Considering the characteristics of the application, services must be distributed without stopping the service or deteriorating video quality. In order to achieve that, though the volume of the video data is too huge, it is necessary to reduce total storage volume and transmission quantity. In this paper, autonomous video-on-demand system architecture for heterogeneous quality levels and an evaluation method of service reliability are proposed. In this system, we employ layered video streaming data and distribute each layered video stream data in different servers. The system, streams the data from multiple sources to the users, assuring a reliable transmission. The evaluation shows the effectiveness of the proposal.","PeriodicalId":120577,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2005. Different kernel function forms different SVM model that has distinct performances. In this paper, after the nonlinear system identification method using SVM is discussed, the criterion of choosing kernel function for system identification is given, and the effect of parameters are discussed. In the experiment, several kernel functions are used to form different SVM models that are used to identify a typically nonlinear system, respectively. To analyze the effect of a parameter on SVM, plenty of parameters are employed to make the system identification experiment. A large number of experimental results show that radial basis kernel function is a good choice for identifying a nonlinear system using SVM.","PeriodicalId":120577,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2005. This paper outlines and discusses some perspectives on the future impact of autonomicity in a demand-, resource-, and competition-driven environment and on the strategies of wireless access providers. The effects are investigated for a standards-neutral, multi-agent architecture that is capable of per-session/call trading of access to wireless network and spectrum resources, exploiting the capability of autonomous agents to represent the business interests of individual players. Results from a joint radio-resource/inter-agent-negotiation simulator are used to quantitatively assess the economic outcomes in various multi-operator competitive scenarios in a realistic environment (an international airport).","PeriodicalId":120577,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2005. To cope with the continuously changing conditions of service provision and utilization, a faded information field (FIF) has been proposed, which is an agent-based distributed information service system architecture. In the case of a mono-service request, the system is designed to improve users' access time and preserve load balancing through the information structure. However, with interdependent requests of multi-service increasing, adaptability and timeliness have to be assured by the system. In this paper, the relationship that exists among the correlated services and the users' preferences for a separate and integrated service is clarified. Based on these factors, the autonomous network-based heterogeneous information services integration technology to provide one-stop service for users multi-service requests is proposed. We proved the effectiveness of the proposed technology through the simulation and the results show that the integrated service can reduce the total users access time compared with the conventional system.","PeriodicalId":120577,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2005. Messaging middleware is a key technique of message delivery between distributed computing applications. The main communication models of current messaging middleware are publish/subscribe and point-to-point. The two communication models have their own characteristics. However, neither of them can achieve efficiency and flexibility simultaneously. In this paper, we proposed and implemented a hybrid communication model based messaging middleware (HCM3), which takes full advantages of two models. Performance result shows that HCM3 can deliver message in heterogeneous environment with the features of high efficiency, flexibility and reliability.","PeriodicalId":120577,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2005.
