Human Action Recognition (HAR) has a wide range of applications in fields of Gaming, Animation, Assisted Living and Surveillance etc. The home surveillance systems are easily available for anyone to use, the surveillance camera records video 24/7, reviewing the same to find out malicious activity will be a time critical work, the proposed method focuses on creating a system which looks for the loitering action in home surveillance videos and records the loiterer information in a file with the photo identity of the loiter. Loitering is an action that is defined as walking around for no obvious reason. In a home environment, if a random person seems to be walking around the house, then it is a suspicious activity, which needs to be addressed. The proposed system uses YOLOv3 (You Only Look Once) for identifying the person of interest and loitering is tracked using DeepSORT (Simple Online Real Time Tracking), Once the loiterer is identified and tracked, his face is captured by using the Haar Cascade algorithm and stored in for future reference. People who have installed home surveillance CCTV system can use this to system to identify loiterers.","PeriodicalId":117229,"journal":{"name":"2022 10th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology - Signal and Information Processing (ICETET-SIP-22)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123326654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With aging, knee joint becomes stiffer and this could be caused by various factors such as infections, cartilage damage or autoimmune diseases. The conventional treatment modalities require extensive physical training and the expenses are quite high for elderly population to maintain healthy knees. During walking, arthritis causes severe pain and hence patient finds it difficult to maintain proper posture. In order to provide cost effective physiotherapy, a rehabilitation device is developed as walking support to assist the elderly person affected with arthritis. This device will monitor the foot pressure of the patient using the piezoelectric plate attached to the shoe which is worn in the affected leg. Knee orthosis embedded with vibrator motor is attached to the affected leg of the patient. The controller module consists of bridge rectifier and Arduino UNO microcontroller. The gait feedback from shoe will be used to adjust the vibration provided to the knee joint which provides pain relief during stance phase of the gait cycle. Results show that the voltage generated from the piezoelectric plate depends on the foot pressure and the weight of the patient. Hence, this rehabilitation device could provide cost effective personalized physiotherapy for the geriatric population affected by arthritis.","PeriodicalId":117229,"journal":{"name":"2022 10th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology - Signal and Information Processing (ICETET-SIP-22)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125174898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is still challenging for the old people to manage themselves and the trolley. This paper presents the insight of the hand gesture-based smart control of trolley with speed variation to match the user requirements. There is a lot of scope in this area to improve the smartness of control, but this work gives a complete description of the hardware equipment's design idea and experimental values. It uses an accelerometer (ADXL-335) to sense the hand gesture and sends them to the receiver through a wireless RF transmitter. An L293D driver drives the motors in the receiver with proper motor wiring to ensure the progression of the trolley as per the command received by the RF receiver.","PeriodicalId":117229,"journal":{"name":"2022 10th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology - Signal and Information Processing (ICETET-SIP-22)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124474934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This disease is precarious because it is transmitted efficiently by close or far with a contaminated person. In this coronavirus disease pandemic, a lot of infected citizens increase every day. The only way to retard the speed of spreading this infectious virus is to recognize and examine this pandemic COVID - 19 disease. The Real-Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) is used as a primary testing approach to diagnose coronavirus disease. However, the RT-PCR detection method is a highly-priced and drawn-out process. Thus, there is a need to design other ways to detect and diagnose COVID-19. The essential part of data-driven science is deep learning. In machine learning, we have to choose properties and images, whereas, in deep learning modeling, the extraction of data step is done automatically. Data learning is the upgrade version of machine learning. Deep learning is used to converge with the convolutional neural network (CNN), mainly accustomed to detecting the disease. This paper will explain the basics of deep learning (DL) techniques and their application in this COVID-19 pandemic situation. For an accurate diagnosis, precise tracking of infection development performs a crucial function. In COVID-19, the computer tomography CT is used for keeping an eye on continuous monitoring of disease development. In most countries, computed tomography is an inexpensive test that helps diagnose covid-19 detection. This paper will also enlist the aspects of CT scan techniques used to recognize coronavirus disease.","PeriodicalId":117229,"journal":{"name":"2022 10th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology - Signal and Information Processing (ICETET-SIP-22)","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124689434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
