Simülasyonlar basitçe, silindir şeklinde soğurucu bir malzeme, NaI(Tl) detektörü,kolimatör ve soğurucuya doğru paralel bir ışın olarak yönlendirilen mono-enerjik fotonlar yayan nokta kaynaktan oluşmaktadır. Problem geometrisindeki tüm bileşenler, numune dışındaki malzemelerde herhangi bir etkileşimi önlemek için vakum bir küre ile çevrelenmiştir. Simülasyon düzeneği bu şekliyle, saçılan fotonların dedektördeki toplam akıya katkı yapması engellemiştir. Simülasyonlar, 10 keV-20 MeV enerji aralığında 39 farklı foton enerjisinde GAMOS 6.2 paketi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma .çinko oksitin cam örneklere ilave edilmesinin cam örneklerinin radyasyon soğurma özelliklerini arttırdığını göstermiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçları XCOM değerleri ile karşılaştırıldığında iyi bir uyum görülmektedir. {"title":"Experimental Investigation of the Performance and Sustainability Analysis of the Classical Heat Pump Dryer","authors":"Halil ATALAY","doi":"10.21205/deufmd.2023257509","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21205/deufmd.2023257509","url":null,"abstract":"Bu çalışmada klasik ısı pompalı kurutucunun deneysel olarak enerji ve ekserji tabanlı performans analizi değerlendirilmiş ve ekserji verilerine bağlı olarak sürdürülebilirlik açısından incelenmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalarda kefal havyarı olarak bilinen botarganın kurutma karakteristiği belirlenmiştir. Yapılan deneylerde botarga 40⁰C sabit sıcaklıkta yaş baza göre ortalama %50-55 nem içeriğinden %16-17 nem içeriğine düşürülünceye kadar kurutulmuştur. Çalışmanın temel amaçlarını ısı pompalı kurutucunun performans ve sürdürülebilirliğini deneysel olarak kanıtlamak ve hassas bir ürün olan botarganın kuruma davranışlarını tespit etmek şeklinde belirtmek mümkündür. Deneyler sonucunda sistemin ekserji verimliliğinin %67.28 - %78.98 aralığında değiştiği gözlemlenmiştir. Buna ek olarak yapılan kurutulmuş botarga üzerinde yapılan gıda analiz sonuçlarına göre ortalama nem ve su aktivesi değerlerinin ise sırasıyla %16.2 ve 0.7198 olduğu belirlenmiştir. {"title":"Site Observations on Buildings’ Performance in Hatay Province after Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes","authors":"Vail Karakale, E. The first 7.7 MW earthquake occurred in Pazarcık, Kahramanmaraş on the 6th of Feb 2023 followed by an earthquake of 7.6 MW in Elbistan, Kahramanmaraş after 9 hours. Thousands of buildings collapsed in ten provinces in Türkiye and caused thousands of life losses and injuries. More than 14 million people were affected, and a lot of people lost their homes which makes the two major events the worst natural disaster of the century. This paper presents site observations on the seismic performance of the buildings in Hatay province that is the most affected city by these earthquakes. Site observations indicate that most of the collapsed buildings are old building stocks constructed before 1999 and collapsed in a pancake failure mode which increases life losses. In general, newly constructed buildings that were designed according to the new Turkish earthquake design code show good seismic performance. {"title":"Effects of Cr Concentration on the Morphology and Corrosion Resistance of Ni-Cr Coatings Prepared by the Electrodeposition Process on 25CrMo4 Steel","authors":"S. The deposition of the Ni-Cr coatings was carried out at temperature of 30°C , direct current density of 2 A/dm2 for 40 min , and a bath containing a Cr2(SO4)3 as source of chromium ions , Cr+. However, the effects of the Cr concentration on the morphology and the quality of the film were investigated. SEM, EDS and XRD analysis were used in order to characterize the Ni-Cr coatings. The SEM morphology analysis exhibited that the Ni-Cr with 0.2% Cr showed the lowest network of cracks and porosity with uniform and compact structure. The corrosion resistance of the Ni-Cr coatings has been investigated in 3.5 wt-% NaCl aqueous solution, using polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. According to the results, it was found that the variation of Cr content in the Ni-Cr coatings greatly affected the microstructure and the corrosion resistance of the coatings. It was found that the loss energy of alpha particles in hydrogen gas decreases linearly with the increase in the pressure between 0 and 1 bar. The measured value of the range and stopping power were compared with SRIM code and ICRU. The front end of the RIS is a humanoid robot head that interacts with users by different means to provide different services. Developing a robot which is similar to a human shape, function and socially accepted by human beings was and is still a challenging subject. Arslan is a new humanoid robot head that has been designed to be close to real human skeletal structure, where its physical structure is designed to be identical to the real human skull, jaw and the nick vertebrae. In order to develop a high-quality and low-cost system, Arslan has a smart mechanism that is controlled by 16 servo motors in order to control its nick, jaw, eyes and facial expression, which have been located according to analysis of human biomechanics. Arslan’s nick mechanism allows one side axial rotation of 41° and flexion/extension of 45°, mandible rotation around the hinge axis of 6 degrees, its eyes can rotate around their axis of motion with Adduction 19°, Abduction 34°, Supraduction (elevation) 0° and Infraduction (depression) 20°. The distance between the upper and the lower eyelid of Arslan can range from 0 up to 17 mm to cover different expressions. Also, it is equipped with devices for motion, vision, audition, smelling, and speech. To contribute to these environmental responsibilities, this study has focused on the development of eco-friendly binder materials from regional ground tuff and marble wastes by the activation of Na2SiO3 and NaOH or slaked lime (Ca(OH)2). The results of the study show that alkali-activated composites tend to the expansion, drying shrinkage cracking, leaching and efflorescence. The compressive strength values of the NaOH and Ca(OH)2-activated pastes have reached up to 15 MPa and 9 MPa, respectively. At 100o C intervals, the temperature ranges from 100o C to 1000o C. Traditional concrete is compared to two ternary blended (TB) concretes (Cement + fly ash + GGBFS and Cement + fly ash + silica fume), as well as hybrid fibres (Galvanized iron + polypropylene). Rüzgâr türbinlerinde kanat profillerinin geometrisi kanat yüzeyinde oluşan aerodinamik kuvvetlerin büyüklüğünü etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmada farklı rüzgâr hızlarında (4-16 m/s) standart NACA 63-415 kanat profilinin geometrik şeklinin kanat performansına etkisi SST k-ω türbülans modeli ile ANSYS Workbench programını kullanarak araştırılmıştır. Standart kanat profilinin HAD sonuçları deneysel çalışmayla doğrulanmıştır. Birinci adımda, standart kanat profilinin yüzeyinin şekli değiştirilerek NCAY30 ve NCAYÜY 30 kanat profilleri üretilmiştir. İkinci adımda, katı kanat modelleri kanat boyunca 1 m aralıklarla 7° hücum açısı, 7 kanat uç hız oranı ve 20 m kanat uzunluğu için optimum veter uzunlukları ve bağlama açıları hesaplanarak SOLIDWORKS programı kullanılarak katı kanat modelleri oluşturulmuştur. Maksimum Cp değeri 0,511 olarak 16 m/s rüzgâr hızında NCAYÜY 30 kanat modeli ile elde edilmiştir ve bu kanat modeli standart NACA 63-415 kanat modeline göre Cp değerini %10,62 artırmıştır. NCAYÜY 30 kanat modeli için maksimum kanat hızı standart kanat modelinden %7,2 daha fazladır.
