This work aims to analyze environmental noise in the frequency domain by using a statistic technique, named bootstrap method. This procedure, already experimentally validated in the time domain, was also applied in the frequency domain and subsequently the measurement times obtained in the two respective domains were compared, providing positive results.","PeriodicalId":115847,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Automotive (MetroAutomotive)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121995620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The FSAT’s high directivity can be exploited for structural inspection, and through-metal data communication and wireless power transfer. These three functions are fundamental in an autonomous sensor system developed for condition monitoring, which is a central requirement in many sectors, such as automotive. A novel pulser, made up of a signal generator and a power amplifier, has been designed and simulated, for effectively driving the FSAT transducer. Experimental results showed that the designed power amplifier is able to reach a gain of 17.80 dB driving the piezoelectric transducer with a maximum peak-to-peak voltage of 24 V and that its bandwidth is [3.1-964] kHz. Experiments have been carried out showing a great improvement in trasmission using the designed amplifier.","PeriodicalId":115847,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Automotive (MetroAutomotive)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132319562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, designing measurement systems for F1 cars presents numerous challenges due to the extreme operating conditions and stringent requirements for accuracy and reliability. This paper reviews recent research on the design and development of measurement systems for F1 cars, highlighting the challenges that must be overcome in order to achieve accurate and reliable data collection. The paper also addresses the problem of difficult access to research (a small number of publications due to Formula 1 teams’ reluctance to share knowledge) related to testing sensors used in F1 cars. In addition, the concept of possible laboratory tests on the resistance of sensors to overloads occurring during the race was presented. A laboratory stand for performing such tests has been presented. The paper concludes with a discussion of potential future directions for research in this field.","PeriodicalId":115847,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Automotive (MetroAutomotive)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129685782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, this approach is herein adopted to analytically correlate the battery terminal voltage to its State of Charge (SoC) and Charge rate (C-rate) for discharging current profiles. The GP discovers the best possible analytical models, from which the optimal one is selected by weighing several criteria and enforcing a trade-off between the accuracy and the simplicity of the obtained mathematical function. The proposed models can be considered an extension of the behavioral models that are already in use, such as those based on equivalent electrical circuits. This GP approach can overcome some current limitations, such as the high time required to perform experimental tests to estimate the parameters of an equivalent electrical model (particularly effective since it must be repeated with the battery aging) and the need for some a-priory knowledge for the model estimation. In this paper, a Lithium Titanate Oxide battery has been considered as a case study, analyzing its behavior for SoC comprised between 5% and 95% and C-rate between 0.25C and 4.0C. This paper represents a preliminary study on GP-based modeling, in which the best behavioral model is identified and tested, with performances that encourage further investigation of this kind of evolutionary approaches by testing them with experimental characterization data.","PeriodicalId":115847,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Automotive (MetroAutomotive)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125047932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The battery chargers must therefore be equipped with suitable power line filters to reduce conducted emission (CE). In order to efficiently design the three-phase filter, the modal decomposition of the disturbance is exploited. In three-phase systems both the differential mode (DM) and common mode (CM) components of the specific phase disturbances generally contribute differently to the overall CE. This paper shows a simple methodology for the design of a three-phase EMI filter using a setup capable of simultaneously measuring the conducted disturbances on each phase and directly calculating the modal components. The method is applied to a 25 kW three-phase off-board battery charger.","PeriodicalId":115847,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Automotive (MetroAutomotive)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121532735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
