The structural characterization revealed the single-phase lead chromate system belongs to monazite-type monoclinic structure with the space group of P2 1 /n. The unit cell consists of an alternating chain of polyhedra (PbO 9 ) and tetrahedra (CrO 4 ) units, connected via edge and corner-sharing arrangement. A flexible device of lead chromate was fabricated and investigated dielectric capacitance, electrical impedance, conductivity, and field dependent polarization performances under different frequency and temperature environments. The device displayed a maximum dielectric constant ( ε ʹ) value ~ 2400 at 120°C under 100 Hz frequency condition. High dielectric constant value is originated from the orientation polarization of CrO 4 unit and space charge contribution in the system. AC conductivity of the device suggested the polaronic charge carriers control the overall conduction process via localized hopping mechanism. A fatigue-free polarization behavior was observed in the device under the applied field of 4.0 kV/mm, for 10 3 cycles and retained the polarization value ~ 0.26 μC/cm 2 over the switching cycles. To meet the needs of many of these applications, humidity sensors must be flexible, disposable, and easily fabricated. This article introduces a cost-effective and flexible humidity sensor created on a paper substrate, using graphene-polypyrrole-carbon black ink. The sensor shows excellent sensing capabilities, with a resistance change of approximately 12.2 Ω/%RH when exposed to humidity ranging from 23%RH to 92.7%RH. Additionally, the sensor is highly flexible, stable, and repeatable for over 50 cycles, with a short response/recovery time of approximately 5 s/7 s for respiration rate monitoring. Furthermore, the sensor demonstrates good reproducibility, with minor variations of approximately ± 1 Ω/%RH. The performance of the produced humidity sensor is assessed for monitoring humidity in a spatial setting as well as monitoring soil moisture. The surface analysis of pure polyolefin and polyolefin-Y 2 O 3 -DOC composite coatings by atomic force spectroscopy (AFM) shows that both of the coated samples’ roughness almost remain the same. Furthermore, the contact angle measurement shows an increase in the hydrophobicity of polyolefin-Y 2 O 3 with inhibitor. The release behavior of the corrosion inhibitors DOC was also studied at different pH. The x-ray diffraction for the loaded product shows that no physical and structural changes occur during the loading of the corrosion inhibitor. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis demonstrates that smart polyolefin-Y 2 O 3 -DOC coating has better anticorrosion properties than pure polyolefin coating due to the effective release of DOC. An increase in charge transfer and pore resistance confirms the better barrier properties of the polyolefin-Y 2 O 3 -DOC composite coating. The inhibition efficiency of the polyolefin modified by Y 2 O 3 increased by 99% as compared to pure polyolefin coating. The carbon steel substrate became stable and the polymeric composite coating protectected the steel against corrosion in the oil and gas industry.
