The most optimistic RCP2.6 model predicts an increase in the range of distribution, contrary to the RCP8.5 model, which shows local extinctions, but habitats gains in areas where this species has not been registered. The results are evaluated with respect to the system of protected areas for this endemic and endangered species in the southern cone of South America.","PeriodicalId":114976,"journal":{"name":"Gayana (Concepción)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122482192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Seven subfamilies of geometrid moths have been recognized worldwide, and five of those have been recorded in Chile. The highest species richness of Chilean Geometrids is concentrated in Ennominae and Larentiinae, subfamilies that will be treated in subsequent volumes of this catalog. The earlier catalogue of the Chilean geometrid moths was published by Angulo & Casanueva (1981), who listed species with no more records that type locality and some flight periods. Since then, much of the taxonomic knowledge has changed, resulting in new combinations and descriptions of numerous new species, as well as establishing new species records for Chile. For each species, we include BIN number (if available), synonymy, biological data, host, references, known geographical distribution, flight period and reference photographs of species. In order to obtain both old and new data, we used specimens from different national and international scientific collections. The result was a review of 13 geometrid moths, which represent the three less known subfamilies of this group in Chile: Archiearinae, Geometrinae and Sterrhinae.","PeriodicalId":114976,"journal":{"name":"Gayana (Concepción)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129265531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adults and larvae feed on several native host plants, but also on pruned wood of exotic plants. In this study we assessed the impact of artifi cial M. scabrata infestation on Vitis vinifera L. wood degradation and the subsequent changes in soil properties. First, we periodically sampled, during a four-month period, pruned wood from an infested table grape vineyard, fi nding in average 1 adult/10 cm linear wood. Adults were then placed in large Petri dishes containing uninfested wood samples, and maintained in a climatic chamber for six months. At the end of this period, an average of 65.6% of infested wood had been turned mainly into sawdust. Additionally, the impact of leaving M. scabrata infested pruned wood on potted soil for six months, under laboratory conditions, was also evaluated. Afterwards, the surface soil content of macro elements (N-P-K) and organic matter signifi cantly increased, whereas the soil pH decreased. These results document the signifi cant impact of M. scabrata infestation on pruning wood degradation and the benefi ts to the soil if left on the ground in the ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":114976,"journal":{"name":"Gayana (Concepción)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127163000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Megaloprepus caerulatus (Drury, 1782) es actualmente la única especie conocida del género. En la mayoría de las medidas corporales es la libélula más grande existente en el mundo (Feindt et al. 2014), con una envergadura alar de más de 190 mm y una longitud total de 89-120 mm (Esquivel 2006; Garrison et al. 2010). La especie ha sido estudiada desde el punto de vista ecológico y conductual en varios hábitats neotropicales (Fincke 1992, 1997). La distribución conocida de M. caerulatus incluye una vasta zona de la región Neotropical que abarca desde Bolivia, Perú, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana y Venezuela en América del Sur (Paulson 1983), todos los países de América Central (Garrison et al. 2010), hasta el sur de México (Paulson & González 1994) en los estados de Chiapas (Montebello), Oaxaca, Veracruz (Reserva de la Biósfera Los Tuxtlas) y Puebla (Zihuateutla) (Cuevas-Yañez 2007). Nunca ha sido encontrada en latitudes altas en la vertiente del Pacífi co Mexicano. Los géneros del Nuevo Mundo Mecistogaster, Microstigma, Pseudostigma, Anomisma y Megaloprepus antes estaban incluidos en la familia Pseudostigmatidae (Garrison et al. 2010), pero con estudios moleculares recientes de redefi nición de las familias de libélulas, se observó que Coenagrionidae era una familia monofi lética : 9 -93, 2018.
