The Tigris River is a vital water source in southeastern Iraq. Monthly water samples were collected from August 2022 to July 2023. Eighteen parameters were analyzed. The principal component analysis (PCA) was applied to analyze the environmental variables. First, it helped us choose significant water quality limits and determine their comparative weights. Second, we constructed excellence curves for the selected","PeriodicalId":11403,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian journal of aquatic biology and fisheries","volume":"2000 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141852023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A multidimensional scaling (MDS) approach through the rapfish process was used to assess the sustainability status of the blue swimming crab fisheries. The sustainability analysis was expressed in the sustainability index of fisheries management. The results showed that the sustainability status of the blue swimming crab fishery in Bone Bay was categorized as less sustainable with an average value of 38.43%. The ecological, economic, social, technological and institutional dimensions were categorized as less sustainable. 24 attributes contributed to the sustainability index value (leverage analysis) of the blue swimming crab fisheries management in Bone Bay, which requires an important attention in the sustainability of the blue swimming crab fisheries management.","PeriodicalId":11403,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian journal of aquatic biology and fisheries","volume":"50 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141841460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
