To tackle these issues, there is a rising interest in using machine learning (ML)techniques to improve the city's traffic control system. This study aims to explore the potential of ML in enhancing traffic management and creating a sustainable urban environment. A novel approach to traffic management in Dubai that combines AI and ML algorithms has been proposed, with the potential to significantly improve traffic flow and safety. A simulation study on a smart traffic control system that utilizes YOLO algorithms for real-time vehicle detection and counting is presented. The system optimizes traffic light timings and balances traffic load among different roads to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow. The simulation results demonstrate that the system is highly effective in adapting to changing traffic conditions and reducing congestion. The study concludes that the use of ML algorithms such as YOLO has the potential to revolutionize traffic management in urban areas, leading to a more efficient and sustainable transportation system. Further research and development in this area could bring significant benefits to both motorists and the environment.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116334225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effective test case generation methods are essential to improve the quality of a system that meets its specifications. One widely used method for generating test cases is the scenario-based approach, which relies on user requirements. However, this approach faces numerous challenges, including non-systematic test case generation, lack of proper test coverage criteria, and testing of non-functional requirements. To overcome some of these challenges, this paper proposes a systematic process for generating test cases that optimizes coverage and hence reduces the time complexity of the generation process. Our aim is to improve the scenario-based test case generation process used to test the quality attributes (QAs) of a system under test.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"65 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121247641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The PID controller will meet robust stability condition expressed in a form of weight on the complementary sensitivity transfer function. A SP is often utilized for a system that exhibits a “relatively” large delay that may cause a system's relative stability and/or performance to deteriorate. The PID controller gains, namely proportional gain ($K_{p}$), integral gain ($K_{i}$) and derivative gain ($K_{d}$), will be determined graphically using only the frequency response of a system's components, i.e., the plant with deadtime and SP structure. It will be shown that the inclusion of a SP along with a PID controller can significantly improve stability margins and/or performance when compared to relying solely on a PID controller even when there is a mismatch between the process and the SP dynamics models. The improvement can be observed for all the perturbed processes in the uncertainty pool. By using the unified approach delta operator, the same procedure can be applied to either continuous or discrete time systems, hence a unified approach. In this paper, the PID controller coefficients have been also found for non-unity feedback systems. The robust stability boundaries of the PID controller will be determined graphically where within the common boundaries, nominal stability is guaranteed and the robust stability requirements are met.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116583798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Flooding in the Red River is caused by a combination of factors, including heavy snowfall, heavy spring rainfall, and poor drainage in the flat terrain of the Red River basin. In recent years, efforts have been made to improve flood forecasting accuracy through numerical and experimental models. An LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) model and the most popular 1D convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) are introduced in this study to predict floods in the Red River of the North by analyzing past streamflow data and identifying patterns and trends. Based on a fitted model using trained data from 1994 to 2021 at the Grand Forks USGS station on the Red River, USA, the streamflow for 2022 was predicted, including a 16.5-year return period flood. According to the study's findings, the RMSE for the 1D-CNN method is 193.09 cfs, whereas the RMSE for the LSTM method is 76.23 cfs for the Grand Forks station which demonstrates that shows LSTM outperforms 1D-CNN in predicting flood events at the USGS Grand Forks Station.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114553761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There have been well documented cases of chips secretly implanted with Trojans creeping into the supply chain. Studies have shown that tampering lithographic masks, also called as reticles, is one of the potential sources of hardware Trojan intrusion. This paper presents a novel blockchain-enabled mask writing technique to combat the alteration of the IC layout design at the mask making step. A blockchain-enabled file storage and transfer system for secure transfer of the layout GDSII file from the design house to the mask making machine is studied in this work. As part of this investigation, a smart contract is developed, which interacts with an external application programming interface (API) and fetches the design layout file from the file storage system. The smart contract developed as part of the research can be adopted in the existing EDA tools for mask making, curtailing the access sought by an adversary in the mask making process. The proposed smart contract is developed using Solidity language, on an online IDE called Remix. Finally, a case study is presented in this paper, validating the approach and simulating the proposed smart contract. The simulation of the smart contract is conducted on Goerli test network provided by Ethereum.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121223213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While video understanding and anomaly detection in videos have been widely studied, our work proposes a novel approach of utilizing human pose information to augment the pre-crime video data with the aim of predicting critical events such as shoplifting. We used pre-crime scenes from shoplifting videos and normal videos in a 3D CNN architecture, with the addition of pose information as augmented data. The contribution of our study lies in the use of pose information, which captures relevant behaviors of people (such as looking around, walking back and forth, and changing direction) immediately before committing a crime. Our experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving pre-crime event detection accuracy.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128114053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, liver biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosis, but it is invasive and risky. Therefore, there is a need for non-invasive diagnostic tools. Recent studies have shown that microwaves and dielectric spectroscopy can differentiate between healthy and diseased liver tissue and can provide information on the severity of NASH. In this study, we used ex vivo NASH mouse model tissues to diagnose NASH using dielectric spectroscopy, a non-invasive technique. According to our study results, the novelty of the study lies in differentiating the various NASH diseased tissue and analyzing them using cole-cole parameters, suggesting the potential development of a noninvasive diagnostic and treatment monitoring tool for NASH. If successful, the use of microwaves could revolutionize the field of NASH diagnosis and monitoring, providing a safer and more convenient alternative to liver biopsy. However, additional research is required to validate this approach and optimize its sensitivity and specificity.","PeriodicalId":113717,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (eIT)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127489797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
