It is an automatic identification technology, without contact, aiming to identify the tag signal, in order to collect and send data instructions to the controller. Nevertheless, security is a very crucial issue for these RFID tags, since they suffer from a large number of threats such as snooping, replay attack, relay attack, counterfeiting etc. Thus, to bypass potential attacks, authentication can deny access to malicious tags. However, the existent heavy duty cryptography is unadaptable for these RFID tags security context, since they have weak computational power. To adjust the authentication security requirements, the current proposed work, a new lightweight message authentication code mechanism based on L-CAHASH, is the extension of our previously presented work, ‘L-CAHASH’ a lightweight hash function based on cellular automata for RFID. The performance of our new proposed message authentication code scheme was analyzed and the obtained results show that it meets the security demands in RFID tags, comparing to well-known hash based message authentication codes.","PeriodicalId":113688,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124936990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both transmitting nodes (i.e., the source and the relay) are equipped with massive MIMO setups. We exploit the directivity of the massive MIMO transmitters on both hops to assume self-interference free duplexing. First, we derive the end-to-end outage probability of the considered communication scheme under an infinite series closed form with a limited number of antennas. Then, to alleviate the computations and provide more insight, we propose a simplified approach based on the Gaussian approximation, and we re-derive the outage probability when the number of antennas is unboundedly large. In both cases, Monte Carlo simulation results are presented to assess the accuracy of the analysis, and confirm the tightness of the approximation.","PeriodicalId":113688,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121861950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Important applications of text spotting are: video indexing, retrieval and search, the support of blind persons in finding their way in unknown environments and reading street and shop signs for autonomously driving vehicles or car license plate recognition in traffic control systems. Recently, the use of deep convolutional neural networks as well as recognizing whole words instead of single characters led to significant progress in the field of text spotting. Furthermore, there is a tendency towards merging and unifying the single steps of the text spotting pipeline. Despite current progress, it is still difficult to recognize in-scene text in comparison to overlaid text. This work gives an overview of the state-of-the-art in text spotting and highlights current breakthroughs and trends.","PeriodicalId":113688,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM)","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121523573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It determines the modulator performance and how much error free signal is modulated, represented by the transmit signal phase and amplitude [1]. The main focus of this work is to design a transmission chain for Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) based on the zigbee standard using Matlab/Simulink and to evaluate the modulator perfromance in terms of reliability and accuracy. We computed Bit Error Rate (BER) and compared the simulation results with theoretical data in order to identify the optimum modulation technique for transmission system while considering the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. Moreover, we measured the modulator accuracy of the transmission chain using EVM to quantify the transmitter performance.","PeriodicalId":113688,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117229632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Defined since its origins as a meta-language facilitating the development of specialized tags Languages, nowadays, many documents benefit from the XML frame. But even if this language is strongly used in the web as a way of data exchange between applications, it still lack the capacity of defining the web resources and the system that uses them, and also the capacity of expressing the knowledge provided by XML documents. It's these lacks that proposes the Web Ontology Language (OWL) proposes to fill. In fact, OWL is a language for ontologies representation in the context of Semantic Web (SW). It's in this context that we're obliged to come up with a solution that allows migration to the SW in order to follow the WEB evolution. Among the suggested solutions, our approach models and implements a set of rules that allow transforming an XML Schema Definition (XSD) to Ontology. This mapping will transform not only the nodes of an XML file but also the relationships between these nodes in order to maintain the same structure.","PeriodicalId":113688,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129330023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a multichannel MAC protocol, MC-UWMAC, especially designed for underwater acoustic sensor networks, is proposed and evaluated. MC-UWMAC is a low power MAC protocol operating on multichannel using a single slotted control channel and multiple data channels. To guarantee a collision free communication, MC-UWMAC uses a virtual grid based slot assignment linked with a quorum based data channel allocation. Specifically, control channel slots are dedicated for handshaking. Data transmission takes place in a unique data channel especially reserved for each communicating pair. Simulation results show that MC-UWMAC can greatly improve the network performance especially in terms of energy consumption, packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay.","PeriodicalId":113688,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132018639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
