First, the trend analysis of warm-days events indicated that the annual count of warm-days occurrences has been significance rising by a rate of 1.4 days per decade over more than 90 percent of the studied stations. Thus, there are consistent patterns in daily warming throughout the study area. The spatial maps showed that the lowest frequency in the minimum annual number of warm-days occurred in western areas by a total number of 21 days and its highest occurred in the eastern area by a total number of 35 days. Moreover, the highest frequency in the mean and minimum annual count of warm-days observed in the northwestern lowlands and their frequency has decreased toward the eastern mountainous. Also, the highest range of differences between the annual count of maximum and minimum values has happened in the eastern regions which are characterized by high elevation and the lower existence of atmospheric humidity. Therefore, a higher moisture content of the atmosphere in lowland coastal stations favors severe warm-days and the increased risk of human health.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116144324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The populations of one type of rare plants (including Pellionia minima Makino) have decreased due to habitat changes (e.g., from a wet environment to a dry environment) by human-driven development. The populations of the other type of rare plants (including disturbance-dependent species) have decreased because they are unmanaged. The former type of plants is stress tolerance-strategy or competition-strategy species, whereas the latter is only ruderal-strategy species. The stress tolerance-strategy or competition-strategy species do not need management after the protection period ends, but the ruderal-strategy species require adaptive management even after the protection period expires. The protection period of P. minima (a stress-tolerant competitor) is estimated to be approx. 1 year after transplant because P. minima have sufficient ecological adaptability and resilience, and growth in these plants is confirmed roughly 1 year after transplant.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132116417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article is devoted to nature conservation in the context of the eco-tourism development . The leading problems in the work of modern «specially protected natural areas» theorists and practitioners are the following: 1) the organization of tourist destinations and management systems for ecological tourism: it is necessary not only to meet the needs of environmental, as well as related pilgrimage and educational tourism, but also the needs of the destination itself, restoration of unique biological objects, flora, fauna, territories and water areas; 2) the issues of increasing the ecological culture of the population and meeting the needs of the population in a way that does not hinder and helps the development of reserves and other previously closed or inaccessible areas or water areas. Special attention was pay to the phenomenon of diversification and its role in the development of environmental and other types of tourism. The article considers the integrative model of geo-branding in ecotourism.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128640169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

My conclusions are as follows. On low-lying plains where modernizing agriculture such as farmland consolidation is developed, the development project is pointed out the problems from the viewpoint of the conservation of aquatic animals. My preference is for the irrigation water system to be pipelined and the drainage water system to be open channel. As for the drainage network, year-round water flow and the use of natural materials for canal beds are very important. Mountainous regions have suffered from depopulation, and maintaining terrace paddy fields has been difficult. To use agriculture to fulfill multiple functions, I propose zoning into agricultural land management areas, grass and forest management areas, and native forest areas. Appropriate adaptive management is required both on low-lying plains and mountainous regions. Additionally, it is significant to conserve aquatic animals in the watershed. The components of the watershed include farm ponds, dam reservoirs, lakes, flood control basins, paddy fields, rice terraces, rivers, irrigation canals, and drainage canals. It is also important to ensure water flow in the artificial systems around the paddy fields throughout the year. Using springs and groundwater during non-irrigation seasons is effective and efficient both on low-lying plains and in mountainous regions.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129177411","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the serially independent climatic variables, Mann-Kendall test (MK test) was applied to the original sample data. However, in the serially correlated series, prewhitening is utilized before employing the MK test. The results of this study indicated a declining trend of rainfall in monsoon season for seven out of thirteen districts of Uttarakhand state. However, an increasing trend was observed in Haridwar and Udhamsingh Nagar districts for summer season rainfall. For maximum and minimum temperature, a few districts exhibited a declining trend in monsoon season whereas many districts exhibited an increasing trend in winter and summer season. Mountain dominated areas (as Uttarakhand state) are specific ecosystems, distinguished by their diversity, sensitivity and intricacy. Thus the variability of rainfall and temperature has a severe and rapid impact on mountainous ecosystems. Nevertheless, mountains have significant impacts on hydrology, which may further threaten populations living in the mountain areas as well as in adjacent, lowland regions.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115320826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Responsibility is a function of power, impact and knowledge. The more strategically central one's position is in terms of power, influence and knowledge, the higher one’s responsibility is. This is an idea which can be worked out in more detail by using interdisciplinary approaches and distributive models on different levels.- Social traps, Prisoners’ Dilemma situations etc. as pertaining to land, soil, and environment as well as some examples from geodesics and the study of the usage of nature systems like lakes and flood plain areas are discussed regarding responsibility and distribution problems. “Naturalists’ Dilemmas” (or “Enjoyers’ Dilemmas”) are sketched and potentially solved by proposing a viable distribution strategy.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123442111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Organic and chemical amendments were added to the soil at the weighting ratio of 2.5% and as the soil gypsum requirement, respectively. After two months of incubation, soil samples were measured for soil pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and the results were analyzed by SPSS software applying ANOVA. The results showed that organic amendments caused a reduction in soil pH and enhanced soil EC and SAR; whereas addition of gypsum and/or aluminum sulfate with biochars intensified their regulatory effects. It can be concluded that application of walnut-shell biochar with mixture of gypsum and aluminum sulfate to the saline-sodic soils has the best efficiency to reclaim the chemical soil properties. Soil leaching, as a supplementary procedure, however, is necessary to complete the improving effects of organic and/or chemical application to the soil.","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125397173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Increased hydroclimatic variability in recent years and the resultant flooding raise questions concerning the flood risk estimations from the short flow records in Turkey. The method described in this study  has been selected according to the likely estimates for the peak flow values at different return periods for the gauged basins. Hence, estimation of the peak flow values for regions with poor or rich discharge datasets could be implemented. In theory, this developed method may be used to estimate the peak flow values at any point on a river network, and not only at basin outlets.  In this research, a case study has been conducted on Firat basin, on which the largest dams in Turkey have been built, by employing a novel approach for developing a new method that calculates the peak flood flows and extreme rainfall. The results demonstrate that the approach is sound and can be employed in prediction of peak rainfall and flow parameters in river basins. ","PeriodicalId":113263,"journal":{"name":"Natural Resources Conservation and Research","volume":"45 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120985916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
