The La-JE not only avoided the leakage of La(OH) 3 but also was separated from solution easily. The optimal pH for phosphate removal by the La-JE was 6. The removal rate of phosphate was positively correlated with adsorption time, La-JE dosage and reaction temperature, and negatively correlated with phosphate concentration. The adsorption process conformed to pseudo-second-order kinetic model and was better fit by Freundlich model. At 25C, the maximum adsorption capacity of the La-JE was 22.75 mgP/g. The influence of SO 4 2-, Cl -, NO 3 -, NH 4 + , HCO 3 -and CO 3 2-on phosphate removal was negligible, suggesting that the La-JE had good anti-interference ability. Mechanism analysis showed that the removal process of phosphate was related to both ligand exchange and surface precipitation. The application in real water environment exhibited that the La-JE had good potential for advanced dephosphorization of sewage treatment plant and natural waterbody remediation.","PeriodicalId":11260,"journal":{"name":"Desalination and Water Treatment","volume":"311 1","pages":"228-236"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://doi.org/10.5004/dwt.2023.29997","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147915015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) offers a lot of potential for water pollution treatment, it has been constrained by its instability and ease of aggregation. For the elimination of Cd(II) from aqueous solution, nZVI/MCM supported nZVI (nZVI/MCM-41/rGO) was designed to improve its dispersion and stability. It had a rough, porous structure with apparent Fe (0) crystallinity and slight rGO crystallinity. On the surface of nZVI/MCM-41/rGO, several oxygen-containing groups were detected. The specific surface area was 15.94 cm 2 /g, and the pore diameter was concentrated at 23.82 nm. The best performance was occurred at pH 6 with an adsorbent dosage of 2 g/L, and a maximum adsorption capacity of 31 mg/g was achieved after 600 min. Cd(II) removal process was well fitted with second-order kinetic, Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm. The thermodynamic parameter was also analyzed and proved that it was an endothermic (H > 0) and spontaneous (G < 0) progress. During adsorption, the crystal type and functional groups of nZVI/MCM-41/ rGO did not change, but Fe (0) was oxidized.","PeriodicalId":11260,"journal":{"name":"Desalination and Water Treatment","volume":"307 1","pages":"120-129"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://doi.org/10.5004/dwt.2023.29856","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147887248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nitrated semi-carbonized fibers (N-SCF) and magnetized-nitrated semi-carbonized fibers (MN-SCF) were prepared through nitrification and magnetization methods, and different metal ion-loaded MN-SCFs were obtained by loading Ca and Mg ions onto MN-SCF. The effects of pH, temperature, and ionic strength on antibiotic adsorption were analyzed. The adsorption kinetics and thermodynamics of tetracycline (TC), chlortetracycline (CTC), and oxytetracycline (OTC) were studied using batch experiments. Results showed that (1) the adsorption of antibiotics on the tested materials initially increased and then decreased with increasing pH and ionic strength, reaching maximum values at pH 4 and 0.1 mol/L, respectively. (2) Higher temperatures facilitated the adsorption of antibiotics on the materials, which followed a chemisorption mechanism. (3) The Langmuir model provided a better fit for the adsorption isotherms of TC, CTC, and OTC compared with the Freundlich model, suggesting monolayer adsorption. (4) The maximum adsorption capacity (q m ) of the antibiotics ranged from 0.80 to 3.97 mg/g, with of CTC > OTC > TC. Metal ion-loaded MN-SCFs exhibited higher adsorption amounts compared with MN-SCF alone.","PeriodicalId":11260,"journal":{"name":"Desalination and Water Treatment","volume":"304 1","pages":"228-237"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://doi.org/10.5004/dwt.2023.29845","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147884815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
