This paper is based on Cuckoo Search or Cuckoo Algorithm- an algorithm based on the destructive reproductive strategy of cuckoos. We can use this algorithm to solve various optimization problems in various domains like design of springs and welded beam structures. This is aimed to understand the breeding behavior of cuckoo. The solutions that we got by CS are far better than the solutions we obtained from swarm optimization.","PeriodicalId":111626,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference and Workshop on Computing and Communication (IEMCON)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133896113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the limitations of traditional communication protocols with single-path transmission, its bandwidth is not enough for bandwidth-hungry applications such as real-time multimedia streaming. However, most of today's computers or mobile devices have at least two or more wired or wireless network interfaces. Some scholars have proposed different idea of concurrent multipath transfer (CMT) to aggregate available bandwidth from heterogeneous networks over Internet. In this paper, we focus on the performance problem from concurrent multipath transfer. The problem is about how to effectively transport data over asymmetric paths with very different bandwidth provision. The best-known reason of inefficient bandwidth-aggregation of CMT is buffer blocking problem for paths' uneven bandwidth. Thus, we propose an enhanced CMT scheme via load-balancing virtual connections (VC). We actually construct and configure the VC-CMT test-bed based on the original CMT-SCTP stack on FreeBSD operating system. The performance results demonstrate the high feasibility of our proposed VC-CMT, which can provide cost-effective bandwidth aggregation for multi-link transmission.","PeriodicalId":111626,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference and Workshop on Computing and Communication (IEMCON)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127690959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One major difficulty is the lack of ability to use low-level features such as edges. Current edge detectors are unable to give continuous edges around object boundaries without any gaps. In this paper, we propose a method for detecting edges in x-ray radiographs which gives more continuous edges around object boundaries than the most commonly used edge detector while still eliminating many false edges.","PeriodicalId":111626,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference and Workshop on Computing and Communication (IEMCON)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117024748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus MANETs can be utilized where the framework of the network is difficult to construct and maintain. Although such networks are flexible, adaptive and require limited resources, discovering paths between the different nodes is a tough job. Ad-hoc networks had been a big challenge for researchers, in-spite of the many researches that were done all around the world. Ad-hoc networks are dynamic, limited in bandwidth and energy. Thus routing in such a network has been a big challenge. The paper presents various techniques to achieve intelligent routing in a MANET using Ant Colony Optimization, Bee Colony Optimization, and Termite Hill Building Technique.","PeriodicalId":111626,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference and Workshop on Computing and Communication (IEMCON)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115441793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Step one involves the estimation of the channel and the step two estimates the transmitter device parameters, which are used to compensate distortions and identify the device. The device identification process involves the comparison of the estimated transmitter device parameters with a validated set of parameters. Results from computer simulation show that the proposed compensation method has a significantly good performance in terms of the bit error rate of the system and successfully identifies the transmitter device.","PeriodicalId":111626,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference and Workshop on Computing and Communication (IEMCON)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114527582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Similarly, head movement of the driver is monitored with an accelerometer headgear to detect drowsiness in the driver. On detecting so, the speed of the vehicle is controlled, alert is raised through audio speakers, and messages are sent to the driver's mobile. AA has some limitations and areas for improvement related to the execution time consumption. The extended AA has some improvements based on the existing algorithm AA. The main findings indicate that not much has been done in an educational data mining considering the volume of data that is observed. Therefore, it is intended to evaluate to what extent an ARM can be utilized in an educational data mining context. Specifically, this paper develops an extended AA mining algorithm and applies it to the higher education system, focusing on the student's course planning system. This project focuses on introducing AA and ARM, implementing the enhanced features of the AA in educational data, develop the course recommender model. Collaborative Filtering (CF) is one of the most widely used and successful techniques behind the development of RS. CF based RS recommend items by computing similarities between users and/or items. The items recommended to a user are those preferred by similar users. However, with the tremendous growth in users and items on the Web, CF algorithms suffer from serious scalability problems because similarities between every pair of users and/or items need to be computed during the training phase. In this paper, we propose a scalable CF method by using data clustering techniques. The proposed work partitions the users of the CF system using an adaptive K-means clustering algorithm and then use those partitions (clusters) to select the similar users (neighborhood) of a target user. In this work, we also try to determine the optimal value of K (number of clusters). Once a target cluster is determined, the neighborhood of the target user is selected by looking into the similarity score between the target user and all other users in that cluster. The basic idea is to partition the users of the RS and apply the CF based recommendation algorithm separately to the partitions. The cluster-based approach reduces the runtime of the system as we avoid similarity computations over the entire rating data. Experiments performed on MovieLens-1M dataset indicate that our method is efficient in reducing the runtime as well as maintaining an acceptable recommendation quality.","PeriodicalId":111626,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference and Workshop on Computing and Communication (IEMCON)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127066382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
