It is challenging to design a scheduler with high throughput and high resource utilization due to task dependency and job heterogeneity. The state-of-the-art schedulers in cloud/datacenters cannot well handle the scheduling of heterogeneous jobs with dependency constraints (e.g., dependency among tasks of a job) for simultaneously achieving high throughput and high resource utilization. We propose SwiftS: a dependency-aware and resource efficient scheduling for high throughput in clouds.","PeriodicalId":109588,"journal":{"name":"IEEE INFOCOM 2021 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126489398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Network resources are limited and they are allocated by a centralized scheduler. Each transmission is lost with a probability that is higher or lower depending on the portion each sub-system receives from the pool of network resources. Furthermore, state measurements go through a first come first serve (FCFS) Geo/Geo/1 transmission queue after they are generated by each sensor. In such a setting, the information at each remote controller that is observing the state measurements through the wireless channel gets outdated. Age of Information (AoI) captures this effect and measures the information freshness at each controller. By definition, AoI is control unaware thus not a standalone metric to capture the heterogeneous requirements of control sub-systems. However, we show how the stationary distribution of Age of information (AoI) can be employed as an intermediate metric to obtain the expected control performance in the network. As a result, we solve the resource allocation problem optimally and show by simulations that we are able to improve the control performance indirectly through AoI.","PeriodicalId":109588,"journal":{"name":"IEEE INFOCOM 2021 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127868094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the high spatial resolution, millimeter wave (mmWave) becomes one of the most promising RF technologies in human sensing tasks. Existing mmWave-based localization and tracking approaches can achieve decimeter-level accuracy. However, it’s still extremely challenging to locate and track multiple pedestrians in a complex indoor environment due to target occlusion and multipath effect. To overcome these challenges, it is an opportunity to leverage multiple mmWave radars to form a multi-radar network that monitors pedestrians from different perspectives. In this poster, we address one of the fundamental challenges of building one multi-radar network: How to calibrate the perspectives of different mmWave radars before fusing their data. To reduce the overhead and improve the efficiency, we propose a multi-radar calibration method that determines the position relationship of different radars by tracking the pedestrian trajectory. Our evaluation shows that the proposed method can achieve the average error of (8.7cm, 8.5cm) in 2D position and 0.79° in angle.","PeriodicalId":109588,"journal":{"name":"IEEE INFOCOM 2021 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127247834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This allows location object in the analyzed area for real-time image reconstruction using an ultrasound tomographic device. This transport system, known as a Cooperative Intelligent Transport System (C-ITS), is aimed to enhance the safety of road users, driving comfort as well as to reduce the CO2 emissions. Industry and academic communities all-over the world is continuously performing research and implementing field measurements to bring C-ITS technology to life. Both 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) have been working on respective standards (3GPP V2X and ETSI ITS G5 in Europe) to provide seamless connections in C-ITS communications. In this poster paper, we discuss the pilot C-ITS use-case scenarios conducted on a test-track in Northern Finland. The pilot measurements are planned by using heterogeneous wireless communication technologies (ITS-G5 and 5GTN) to provide C-ITS service alerts. The C-ITS service alerts are used to avoid road traffic collisions as well as to improve traffic efficiency with CO2 reduction. The C-ITS pilot service alerts proved that the heterogeneous network considerably improves the communication link availability between vehicles and road-side-infrastructure to make it more secure, eco-friendly and efficient.","PeriodicalId":109588,"journal":{"name":"IEEE INFOCOM 2021 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130701785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the premise of ensuring certain recognition accuracy, the training time and storage space are reduced. In this paper, the received signals are extracted by traditional methods, such as Hilbert Huang transform, I/Q data input, Bi-spectral transform, etc., and then input into the neural network for training classification and incremental learning for training.
