In our experiments, we focus on measuring electrical potentials for Chrysanthemum and Sansevieria plants. We note that the wireless pervasive sensor system, for real time data collection, should be optimally designed in terms of energy and communication costs. Therefore, in our work, we design and propose an optimized ZigBee – based lightweight end to end system to measure and evaluate plant action potentials. Our system’s design functionality response results, demonstrated a significant reduction in the firmware code length, to be loaded in the microcontroller unit, potential use of 8 – bit microcontrollers with low memory capacity and reduced development costs for hundreds of measuring plant points and reduced processing and communication costs. All these results makes the system suitable for large scale use in agricultural IoT applications.","PeriodicalId":109238,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114845857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After a brief description of the scenario and its peculiarities, the theory underlying monocular edges-based tracking for pose estimation is recalled and an innovative tracking algorithm is formally developed and implemented. This algorithm is coupled with a dynamic Kalman Filter propagating the dynamics which underlies a space rendezvous. The navigation filter increases the robustness of target position and attitude estimation, and allows the estimation of target translational velocity and rotation rate using only pose measurements. Moreover, the filter implements a computationally efficient delay management technique that allows merging the delayed and infrequent measurements typical of vision-based navigation. The performance of the algorithm is tested in different scenarios with high fidelity synthetic images.","PeriodicalId":109238,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117081677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Comparative analysis of their respective time series offers new insights and information and new decision-making metrics. During the Great Recession, Greece faced a sudden and dramatic decline in GDP and a prolonged debt crisis fueled by structural issues and severe austerity measures. While all other European economies rebound and experienced GDP growth Greece continued to decline. Energy consumption, however, declined across Europe regardless of GDP growth. Using comparative information analytics, trends are identified, underlying factors unfolded and conclusions are drawn on the energy behavior of Greece’s economy as well as those of Germany, Italy, France and Bulgaria.","PeriodicalId":109238,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132442099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In other words, it contributes decisively to making right and fair decisions. In this respect, this paper aims to showcase a software-based platform that is designed to enhance public participation in the decision-making process, allowing all interested stakeholders and relevant beneficiaries to join decision makers for jointly designing and eventually selecting the most effective combinations of actions, customised to a specific pre-defined problem of energy or socioeconomic nature, using crowdsourcing techniques and methods of modelling, simulating and evaluating options using open data and global system dynamics.","PeriodicalId":109238,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129329199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there is a strong need from the industry for no-reference models that don’t require reference signals, developing reliable no-reference models for perceptual video quality assessment has been a challenging goal. On the other hand, in most digital video transmission, encoded video signals are transmitted in video packets, which can provide valuable information about coding parameters and transmission errors. The proposed hybrid noreference models uses both the information available from video packets and decoded signals to estimate coding artefacts and impairments caused by transmission errors. Sometime, the payloads of video packets may be encrypted to protect contents. In such case, the available information is rather limited. The proposed method was independently tested against large databases and shows good performance.","PeriodicalId":109238,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125981397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mobile phones and other inter-connected smart devices make a significant contribution to the generation of e-waste. Reverse logistics (RL) activities play an essential role in managing mobile phones during their end-of-life. However, remanufacturing and/or refurbishing of mobile phones might prove difficult not only from an operational point of view but also from a data management and privacy perspective (due to privacy-related regulatory frameworks like the EU General Data Protection Regulation directive). In this paper, we propose a distributed trustless and secure framework for electronic equipment RL activities based on blockchain technology. We consider the remanufacturing/refurbishing recovery option for mobile phones, and we develop an autonomous and effective back-end data sharing architecture based on smart contracts/blockchain technology for keeping track of all the remanufacturing/refurbishing processes. For demonstrating the applicability of our approach, we develop a functional set of smart contracts and a local private blockchain. The benefits of our framework are further discussed, along with fruitful areas for future research.","PeriodicalId":109238,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127149024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
