The frequency characteristics of proposed DGS unit show an attenuation zero close to the attenuation pole frequency. As a result, better transition sharpness, lower passband insertion loss and broader stopband are observed compares to dumbbell DGS. An equivalent lumped L-C network is proposed to model the introduced DGS unit and corresponding L-C parameters are extracted. A 3rd order quasi-elliptic lowpass filter is designed by cascading two investigated DGS units under High-Low impedance microstrip line.","PeriodicalId":109071,"journal":{"name":"2010 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132838342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A major breakthrough in this regard is in terms of scheduling with Packet Scale Rate Guarantee. However, fundamental limitation of the method lies in unbounded growth of end-to-end delay, whenever the strict relation between utilization and number of hops traversed, fails. A tighter end-to-end delay bound is derived in this paper for highest priority packet, called EF packet. The paper also presents an analytical expression for quantifying maximum possible increase in delay of an EF packet. Using these results, a modified relation between utilization and number of hops traversed by a packet is shown. The modified relation is shown to allow higher utilization compared to earlier result.","PeriodicalId":109071,"journal":{"name":"2010 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"441 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121834364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a Context Aware ESB (CA-ESB) that will publish and discover services based on location context. The main modules of the framework consist of Context Provider (senses location context), Context Aware Logic Module (decides which regional service to be selected based on location context) and Service Choreographer (choreographs selected services). We propose a graphical model named Context Aware Graph (CA-Graph) that will help us to dynamically choreograph the services. These modules along with other modules of SOA reference architecture will help the ESB to sense the location of users, to select the required services and dynamically choreograph those services.","PeriodicalId":109071,"journal":{"name":"2010 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122213043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both the shunt and series APFs are realized using a single-phase, two leg voltage source inverter (VSI). For the series APF the control strategy is based on Unit Vector Template (UVT), while a comparison is made for the two control strategies namely UVT and single-phase p-q theory for shunt APF. In both of the control strategies the control is made over the fundamental supply current and fundamental supply voltage instead of the fast changing AFs current and voltage, thereby reducing the computational delay and number of required sensors. A dynamic model of the UPQC is developed in the MATLAB/SIMULINK enviournment and the simulation results demonstrating the power quality improvement in the system are presented for distorted supply and a combination of linear and non-linear load.","PeriodicalId":109071,"journal":{"name":"2010 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127270093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two different information delivery mechanisms are studied using regenerative relays with or without error correction capability. Optimal packet sizes, based on energy efficiency, are estimated for both schemes under several network conditions and node densities. An interference model for multi hop is developed with two kinds of interferers; Multiple Access Interference (MAI) and Node Interference (NI). Energy requirements for successful transmission of file from source to sink using different mechanisms with infinite ARQ per packet are investigated for optimal packet based and other fixed size packet based schemes using a suitable energy model. The energy level performances of two schemes using optimal packet length are compared.","PeriodicalId":109071,"journal":{"name":"2010 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124544664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Base station sites are the main energy consumers in a mobile network. Their energy consumption significantly contributes to green house gas (Co2) emissions. Hence, service providers are looking for energy saving solutions in their existing and future deployments which in turn reduces the Co2 foot print and operational costs. There is a little study in assessing energy requirements of baseband functions of base station (e-nodeb) due to its energy consumption contribution is significantly low when compared to other more energy hungry components such as power amplifiers, analog frontend and protocols. In this paper, we have assessed energy consumption in MIMO-OFDM baseband functions of LTE eNodeB on a typical multi-core processor. In particular, implementing such computationally complex algorithms energy efficiently pose certain challenges such as less complex algorithm selection, architecture selection, algorithm architecture mapping, and energy management strategies. We have given the guide lines for addressing these challenges.","PeriodicalId":109071,"journal":{"name":"2010 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"324 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131589195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
