As a non-invasive, non-pharmacological method with an anxiolytic effect, music therapy is preferred in the management of anxiety and fear. This study aimed to investigate the effect of music therapy on dental anxiety in patients scheduled to undergo periodontal surgery. \u0000Material and Method: The study included a total of 46 patients, 23 in the study group and 23 in the control group, who were scheduled to undergo periodontal surgery. The patients in the control group wore in-ear headphones to isolate ambient sounds, but they did not listen to any music. All patients were asked to complete the Modified Dentistry Anxiety Scale (MDAS), the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-State (STAI-S), and the Dental Fear Survey (DFS) before and after surgery. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure were measured as vital signs before and after surgery, and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores were recorded twice (at the end of and 30 minutes after the surgical procedure). \u0000Results: In the study group, the post-test MDAS, STAI-S, and DFS measurement values showed statistically significant decreases compared to the pre-test measurement values (P","PeriodicalId":10781,"journal":{"name":"Cumhuriyet Dental Journal","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140504247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Commonly occurs on gingiva, lip, tongue, buccal mucosa, palate and floor of the mouth. The usual causative agents are calculus, presence of foreign body, although certain drugs and hormonal imbalances precipitate its growth. Difficulty in speech, mastication and compromised aesthetics is encountered when increased in size. Histologically two variants are reported: Lobulated capillary haemangioma (LCH) and non- LCH. LCH shows organised arrangement of lobular aggregates of blood vessels whereas, non-LCH features granulation tissue type without lobular aggregates. The treatment consists of elimination of local irritants with conservative surgical excision. This case report deals with a patient who presented with long standing PG at multiple sites causing him difficulty in mastication leading to inadequate dietary intake which causing undernourishment. The management included elimination of local factors and excision by diode laser.","PeriodicalId":10781,"journal":{"name":"Cumhuriyet Dental Journal","volume":"96 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140504991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An example of this is screw-retained implant-supported prostheses. With screw-retained prostheses, the residual cement problem is eliminated. However, abutment material and abutment design may adversely affect the mechanical and aesthetic properties of prostheses. Ti-base abutments have been developed to solve these problems. However, studies on clinical succes, material content and abutment height of ti-base abutments remain up-to-date. In our study, the effect or abutment heights on the bond strength and stress distribution with monolithic zirconia crowns in ti-base abutments manufactured from different titanium Gr types will be tested. Titanium Gr 4, Gr 5 and Gr 23 ELI materials will be used in our study. A total of 7 groups are planned with ti-base abutments with a abutment length of 3.5 mm, 5.5 mm for Gr 4 and Gr 5, abutment length of 3.5 mm, 5.5 mm and 7 mm for Gr 23. In the in vitro experiment, the fracture strength of the samples will be tested with the universal testing device. total of 77 implants, ti-base abutments and monolithic zirconia crowns will be used by creating 11 samples for each study group. The obtained values will be recorded in Newtons and Megapascals. The data will be analysed using the SPSS 22.0 programme. As a result, while the lowest fracture strength values were observed in Gr 4 Ti material in all ti-base abutment lengths in the samples for which the fracture strength test was performed, similar values were observed in the ti-base abutments produced from Gr 5 and Gr 23 ELİ alloys. When the relationship of bonding strengths with Ti alloys was evaluated, it was seen that there was no significant difference between Ti alloys.","PeriodicalId":10781,"journal":{"name":"Cumhuriyet Dental Journal","volume":"20 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139153838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
