The worst affected sector was hospitality, as the people could not travel because of government restrictions. Since travel and tourism constitute a significant portion of GDP across nations, it will be a matter of concern for businesses to know if tourists would be keen to revisit their choice destinations, especially the ones affected by COVID-19. The study used the ‘theory of reasoned action’ and ‘perceived risk theory’ to examine 282 Indian tourists’ revisit intention for destination identity, memorable experiences and subjective norms. SPSS Amos 25 and SPSS PROCESS macro were used to verify the proposed conceptual model and test hypotheses. The results display a positive relationship among destination identity, memorable experience, subjective norms and revisit intention. The association was found to be mediated by the attitude towards revisit intention and moderated by perceived risk, both of which were also found to be significant. Earlier studies have neither been conclusive nor the models very comprehensive; hence, this study makes a substantial contribution in this regard.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"212 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114573263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus of the study is the Tata Group and the events that led to the dismissal of its chairman Mr Cyrus Mistry in 2016. Using the case research method, the article analyses the reasons for the abrupt removal of the chairman, who was not from the Tata family. The data were collected from official filings/letters by group firms/officials and articles on the Tata Group. FIBER scale is used to explain the socioemotional wealth of the Tata Group. The analysis establishes that the leadership change initiated by family patriarch Mr Ratan Tata was because of socioemotional wealth reasons, rather than financial performance. Hence, the article provides evidence that the Indian family-owned business groups consider socioemotional wealth more important than financial interests.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125886171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employing panel data analysis, the author uses various measures from the global mobile money dataset GSMA and Google Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Community Mobility Reports. The findings reveal that the social distancing restrictions have begun to play an essential part in the shift to cashless payment due to the epidemic and influence the adoption and use of MMS. The results also suggest that the social distancing restrictions affect consumer adoption of MMS and indirectly affect retailers. Unlike prevailing studies, this study is unique in empirically investigating the association between COVID-19 community mobility and MMS adoption. This study contributes to financial studies on MMS adoption under extreme settings.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127924614","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study focuses on developing an operational performance model for banks by considering the NPLs. The study uses non-parametric methodology to develop a non-oriented and non-radial Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model with NPLs as undesirable output. The dataset of 39 Indian commercial banks for period of 5 years is selected for the study. The findings of the study prove that considering risk into performance modelling leads to an unbiased efficiency indicator. Also, the non-parametric test confirms the relationship between operational efficiency and ownership. The study uses non-orientation modelling results to reveal inefficient sources within under-performing banks. As per the findings, slack variable analysis reveals two problem areas: ‘fixed assets’ and ‘NPLs’. A higher focus on improving utilization of fixed assets as well as controlling the level of rising NPL (risk) is highly significant for benchmarking performance. Overall, the study supports the business decision to control excess inputs and outputs for banks to achieve the efficient frontier. Significant managerial implications are linked to findings of the study focusing towards performance improvement of banks.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133794486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A primary sample survey of 310 export companies was conducted in major clusters. Subsequently a conceptual framework model was developed to understand the various determinants influencing the use of trade agreements by the textile and clothing export firms in India. The study identified 8 dimensions of impediments, 4 determinants of costs, 5 benefits and 11 enablers to the use of trade agreements. A binary regression modelling was performed on the data set to identify the critical factors, which determine the usage of trade agreements using SPSS 16. The results obtained showed that the probability of usage of trade agreements decreased with documentation costs, cost associated with time to obtain preferential certificate, non-tariff barriers in partner countries and lack of knowledge. The probability of usage was positively significant for gaining new buyers under the agreements, government outreach, support from public sector bodies and ease in issuance of certificates. This study will provide a foundation to understand the determinants of usage of trade agreements in future. We conclude that a more SME centric approach will help in making trade agreements more inclusive.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132327201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study uses monthly observations from India for the period from January 2012 to December 2019 to investigate the long-run and short-run relationship between the domestic macroeconomic forces and equity market. The study employed the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach and pair-wise granger causality test to attain the objective. The long-run empirical results indicated that the Indian equity market and the domestic macroeconomic forces are cointegrated. The long-run coefficients of foreign exchange rate and money supply are found to be significant. The short-run coefficients suggest that money supply, inflation and foreign exchange rate significantly influence the Indian equity market. The study also observed the presence of feedback mechanism between foreign exchange rate and Indian equity market. The study provides the policy and managerial implications.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"208 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115012678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was adopted and extended with two additional variables: trust and perceived risk (PR). The sample of 682 respondents was obtained through an online survey distributed to retailers throughout Egypt. The partial least squares-structural equation modelling method was employed to analyse the data and test the hypotheses of this study. In terms of outcome, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influences (SI), trust and PR are found as significant factors in the retailers’ behavioural intentions to use m-payment (BIU). Moreover, trust and SI were the most significant factors influencing the retailers’ BIU m-payment. This study provides insight into Egypt’s retail sector regarding BIU m-payment. Accordingly, decision-makers, m-payment providers and stakeholders can benefit from the results by looking at the significant factors and understanding the retailers’ BIU m-payment, especially when formulating strategies for the m-payment ecosystem. This study investigated the ‘pay pay cash’ initiative, which is being implemented for the first time in Egypt after the spread of the Coronavirus.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116089153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study uses the Web of Science (WoS) core database to identify the articles published on the theme. The study then uses descriptive and bibliometric indicators to analyse publication and thematic structure using the Science of Science (Sci2) tool and Gephi. The top contributing and impactful authors, journals, and articles are identified using bibliometric techniques. The study reveals that central themes in FT research involve experience, local, satisfaction, quality, image, value, model, intent, and motive. The network analysis reveals a lack of study and use of technology/digitalization in FT. The systematic review also suggests that research is scarce on sustaining resource-based competitive advantage and the influence of the pandemic on customer engagement, loyalty, and value co-creation. The study uses literature published in the WoS database and excludes other databases. All the metrics have been calculated based on data from WoS that might affect the overall findings. This study is one of the first to combine bibliometric analysis and systematic review in the field of FT and provides for future research agendas and implications.","PeriodicalId":105970,"journal":{"name":"Paradigm: A Management Research Journal","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131338130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
