Beside the above services, by increasing the traffic volume through Startups and Accelerators in the smart cities and establishing the new Big data concept the 5G network necessitates a powerful communication infrastructure. 5G mobile communications based on eMBB, mMTC and URRLC with good thresholds is a good candidate for smart cities. Operators, organizations and vendors have suggested 5G for telecommunication networks to support new services. In 5G, access and core sections have been changed to support new services. Regarding to these variations, we review 5G specifications in this paper.","PeriodicalId":104921,"journal":{"name":"WCNC Workshops","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115733742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we consider a set of mobile users that can offload their computation on Virtual Machines (VMs) instantiated in a cloud infrastructure implemented over a set of femtocells which have been augmented with computational resources. In this setting, a critical task is to determine where users VMs should be allocated across the different femtocells as to optimize the user performance. In this paper we formulate the VMs allocation problem as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) based optimization, to directly take into account the system dynamics and optimize the long term performance. The optimal policy is obtained solving the MDP using a Linear Programming reformulation. We illustrate the behavior of the proposed policy in simple scenarios.","PeriodicalId":104921,"journal":{"name":"WCNC Workshops","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114544622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In mmWave vehicular networks, handover occurs more frequently due to the mobility of vehicles and the sensitivity of mmWave beams to the dynamic blockage and deafness. However, beam re-sweeping is required during the handover process, due to the directional beamforming adopted in mmWave vehicular networks, which is very time-consuming. Hence, in this paper, we propose a base stations (BSs) coordination based beam selection method to facilitate fast handover for the connected vehicles. We exploit the angle information extracted from the beam codewords of previous serving BS to refine the beam searching space of targeting BS, which possesses low complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the size of beam searching space of target BS.","PeriodicalId":104921,"journal":{"name":"WCNC Workshops","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114978432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is always more or less noise in each spectrum. The noise will extend the database search time and interfere the results of mass spectrometry. In this paper, we proposed a new preprocessing method based on SVM to solve the problem. In order to distinguish the noise peaks before removing them from the signal peaks, our method first carefully selects 25 features based on the real data test results. After that, peaks satisfy these 25 features are feed to a SVM (support vector machine) model for final identification. The experimental results showed that the proposed method can effectively increase the efficiency of spectral analysis and the number of peptide and protein identification.","PeriodicalId":104921,"journal":{"name":"WCNC Workshops","volume":"188 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114269019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To realize such amorphous networks, ultra dense network (UDN) technology is expected as a promising candidate for its flexible network architecture and abundant radio resources. Yet, the multi-connection optimization for UDN is still left as an open problem nowadays. This motivates us to explore how many and which access points (APs) should be accessed in multi-connected amorphous UDNs. To solve this problem, we introduce a new definition of the maximum number of accessed APs for help, and propose two algorithms to identify this number and handle the AP selection respectively. Monte Carlo simulations testify the validity of our scheme and prove that our strategy can guarantee the soft handover and overcome the “ping-pong effect” efficiently in various kinds of networks with high sum-rate performance.","PeriodicalId":104921,"journal":{"name":"WCNC Workshops","volume":"308 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132097256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
