Originally conceptualized by William Alonso, the SUM provides a theoretical framework to understand intra-urban economic dynamics predicated on a monocentric city structure. Through a comprehensive dataset encompassing census demographics, housing prices, and GIS-mapped land-use patterns from 2015, this paper investigates the models ability to predict and describe urban land rent gradients and residential distribution relative to the citys Central Business District (CBD). The findings indicate that while the SUM may provide a generalized view of urban structure, it significantly underestimates the socio-economic diversities, technological advancements, and cultural influences that are inherent in urban development. Particularly, the analysis reveals that rental price declines with distance from the CBD are not as pronounced as predicted by the SUM, with a low coefficient of determination (R=0.2551). Furthermore, the study highlights how urban development in Manchester deviates from the monocentric model due to historical shifts, regeneration efforts, and the emergence of multi-centric hubs. This research underscores the necessity for adapting urban economic models to reflect the complexities and dynamic nature of modern cities, suggesting a shift towards more nuanced and flexible frameworks that accommodate the multifaceted influences on urban landscapes.","PeriodicalId":104305,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences","volume":"136 21","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141811186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study selects manufacturing enterprises that are publicly listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges as well as the Growth Enterprise Market in China, as research samples, of which the data spans from 2011 to 2020. An empirical research using a matched dataset of this period demonstrates that the growth of digital finance has a significantly positive impact on the promotion of green technology innovation in Chinese manufacturing companies. This result remains valid even after conducting rigorous testing to ensure its reliability and taking into account the potential influence of endogeneity. Moreover, this promoting effect exhibits heterogeneity due to differences in enterprise size and property rights. In the future, governments, financial institutions, and enterprises should collaborate to promote the improvement of digital finance infrastructure, bolster policies and financial support for enterprise green technology research and development (R&D) investment, and effectively foster the improvement of corporate green technology innovation capabilities.","PeriodicalId":104305,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences","volume":"34 31","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141814125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research uses three mathematical models to predict the specific revenue of China's sports industry from 2024 to 2030. The Grey Theory Prediction Model and the recursive algorithm were used in previous research to make revenue forecasts. The research and comparison indicate a large difference between the real income and the predicted results of the models. This paper proposed a novel predicting method improved by the ARMAX-BP prediction model. The results show that the predicted result of ARMAX-BP is much more accurate than the first two models on the revenue forecast of the sports industry from 2010 to 2020. The prediction model can help sports investors plan their careers and investments precisely.","PeriodicalId":104305,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences","volume":"36 47","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141813960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increasingly serious reduction of the labor force and the pressure of the pension system make the current retirement policy gradually show its shortcomings of not adapting to the Chinese labor market. To this end, the government has planned to gradually implement the retirement delay policy and set a long-term goal to 2035. In an in-depth discussion of the current situation of China's labor market, society must focus on the aging of the population, the extension of working life, and the changes in labor demand. In order to better promote the implementation of the delayed retirement policy, this paper makes the following recommendations: protect the legislative rights of workers, strengthen medical services to safeguard the health of the elderly workforce, provide targeted training to adapt to the new work needs, and introduce more flexible working arrangements. These measures aim to ensure that the delayed retirement policy can be effectively implemented while protecting the rights and interests of workers.","PeriodicalId":104305,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences","volume":"104 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141812123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Curtailing financialization behavior in corporations is essential for fostering a sustainable and robust real economy. ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) ratings, as an emerging evaluative system, are increasingly influencing corporate governance and investment decisions, potentially mitigating the drive towards corporate financialization. This study utilizes panel data from Chinese listed companies between 2008 and 2021 and applies a multi-period DID (Difference-in-Differences) methodology to empirically examine the impact of ESG ratings on corporate financialization levels. The findings reveal that ESG ratings significantly inhibit corporate financialization. This conclusion is reinforced by parallel trend tests, placebo tests, and PSM-DID robustness checks. Further analysis shows that the inhibitory effect of ESG ratings on financialization is more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises and companies located in eastern regions. This research provides new insights into the influence of ESG ratings on corporate behavior, offering empirical evidence and reference for policymakers aiming to promote sustainable corporate practices and curb financialization.","PeriodicalId":104305,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences","volume":"2 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141640496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In e-commerce scenarios, consumers can browse and purchase goods anytime and anywhere, enjoying unprecedented convenience. However, at the same time, the issue of post-purchase dissonance has gradually become prominent. This paper aims to explore the influencing factors and management measures of consumer post-purchase dissonance psychology in e-commerce scenarios. The article first reviews the theory of post-purchase dissonance and the theory of perceived psychological contract violation-, providing a theoretical foundation for subsequent research. Then, through a literature review, it identifies multiple factors affecting consumer post-purchase dissonance, including customer service quality, costs incurred from returns, and uncertainties in online shopping. To effectively manage post-purchase dissonance, enterprise managers should focus on improving service quality, optimizing the return process, and reducing shopping uncertainties. Additionally, strengthening consumer education and enhancing their cognitive ability regarding product information and decision-making skills in shopping are also important ways to reduce post-purchase dissonance.","PeriodicalId":104305,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences","volume":"14 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141641086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
