Therefore, wounds need to be managed comprehensively through proper assessment, following proper techniques and, using proper dressings according to the nature of the wound and patient preferences. Careful assessment of the wound is vital to determine the healing progress and, to select the type of material to be used for the dressing. Pain assessment and its control are un-forgetful aspects of successful wound management. Though advanced dressing materials are available in facilitated settings, conventional wound materials including topical antibacterial agents are widely used in most of the settings due to unavailability, low cost, and unawareness. In this review, briefly discuss the general principles of wound management, principles of wound bed preparation, dressing selection, antibacterial agents and dressing materials using for wound care.","PeriodicalId":104100,"journal":{"name":"Research & Investigations in Sports Medicine","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129482565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ACL is the main static stabilizer against anterior translation of the tibia on the femur. Because of oblique anatomy of ACL, it is efficient for limiting excessive anterior tibial translation as well as axial tibial and valgus with knee rotations [2]. Besides its mechanical function related to knee stabilization, there is also neuromuscular function of the ACL due to mechanoreseptors [3]. If there is an ACL deficiency, deafferentation zones can be seen. These zones alter spinal and supra-spinal motor control [4]. The changes in motor control strategy can reveal changes in proprioception, postural control, muscle strength, movement and recruitment patterns [3]. Therefore, an ACL injury is not only a musculoskeletal injury, both also neuro physiological dysfunction.","PeriodicalId":104100,"journal":{"name":"Research & Investigations in Sports Medicine","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128536316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this time, the first organization that enabled youth to participate in football activities was established to give children the opportunity to train in football, basketball, athletics, and gymnastics once or twice a week [1]. The 1980s were fundamental for Maltese youth soccer. The Maltese Youth Football Association (MYFA) was initially established in 1982 with eight clubs. Now, the structure contains 47 clubs. Besides, physical fitness, anthropometric data’s have used to the testing athletes for talent selection. On the other hand, the cognitive, perceptual and motor skills are also important factors to determine talented individuals. Common causes of neck pain include macrotrauma (i.e. single traumatic/forceful events) and microtrauma (i.e. minor, repetitive trauma/injury over a long time) both of which can result in loss of function. This loss of function can negatively impact an individual’s performance and activities of daily living. A unique subpopulation that is rapidly rising and commonly reports neck pain are eSport athletes. Colleges across the country have seen a steady surge in this growing population. A recent poll of over 40 eSport athletes revealed that 34% of them experienced neck and back while competitively gaming [3]. There is growing concern over the health and well-being of these student athletes. Their posture and sustained positioning during competitive gaming can last for 3-6 hours and must be considered as a potential contributing factor of their symptoms. A decline in verticality and upright seated positioning has been seen to occur within 30 minutes of competition. (Figure 1) These prolonged, aberrant postures can propagate a host of signs and symptoms often associated with neck pain.
