An algebraic approach to implement Error Correcting Codes (ECC) is proposed, and implemented using a Hardware Description Language, specifically VHDL. The ECC designed for HDL algebraic implementation is Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH), that is one of the most important cyclic block codes. In this research work, we adopted n=63 and k=57, BCH(63,57) an usual configuration in many scientific communication systems as CCSDS telecommand systems of European Space Agency (ESA) and Agenda Espacial Brasileira (AEB). The achieved results clearly shows the main idea in our approach: to prove that an algebraic implementation is a far better approach, leading to an impressive efficiency, and much more suitable than any other sequential algorithm, even then the ones in a hardware version.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114891382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The anycast technique is used to address relays, and each relay's advertisement may be seen globally or only within a limited scope. The number of available relays is important to this mechanism's robustness, as well as their geographic location. Due to the details of the mechanism, limited scope relays are not easy to find, despite the fact their location and existence is key to evaluate suitability of current deployment.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128077058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is known that in this context the adaptive algorithm can be iterated several times during the same bit interval in order to achieve a faster convergence rate for the receiver, which further reduces the length of the training sequence. Instead of using such multiple iterations we propose a single equivalent formula for updating the receiver coefficients, saving significant time processing. The simulation results prove the equivalency of these approaches in terms of convergence rate performances.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114602442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since user identities normally contain some information concerned with user privacy, sharing of such identity information between Web services should be minimized to preserve user privacy. In this paper, we propose a user-centric trust model for supporting Web services based on the principle of least sharing identity information. This model can be applied to applications in which a user is interacting with multiple Web services simultaneously. We describe this model and show how it can be used as the foundation for developing comprehensive solutions to protect user identities during Web service interactions, thus preserving user privacy.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121786322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its aim is to develop models of existing or planned cooperative systems. These models are used to specify systems or to create dynamic working simulations. Comparative performances are deduced from the latter. The associated meta-model proposal is based, among other things, on the use of multi-agent systems, Petri nets and stochastics Petri nets. After having described the whole methodology concepts, we show a set of general results extracted from simulations.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"85 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127732858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To alleviate this issue, first cancellation stage of an optical serial interference cancellation (O-SIC) can be employed. In this paper, we investigate the effect of optical serial interference cancellation for the first cancellation stage on bit error rate (BER). We compare the first cancellation stage with the conventional correlation method by utilizing different threshold values with the various length and different number of users. We have successfully shown that the optical serial interference cancellation yields a better performance than the conventional correlation method by choosing the optimum value in the first cancellation stage. We provide the results of computer simulations showing the BER improvement when the first cancellation stage of optical serial interference cancellation (OP- SIC) is used over the cancellation technique. The comparisons are done for several numbers of users.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123918248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The topology is composed of several rings connected through one switch. In this framework, a distributed management protocol as well as a switching protocol are proposed and analyzed along different types of traffic. One of the aims of this framework is to propose a distributed management protocol that controls the access resources and thus the number of packets in nodes. Indeed, simulations results show the variation, in terms of number of packets in buffers, between the proposed protocol and the well known token ring protocol. We first focus on the algorithmic complexity of the related problem in a one ring network. Then, we analyze simulation results provided by the OMnet++ simulator, in terms of packet delay, latency, utilization ratio of the network, and also number of packets in nodes buffer. We compare proposed protocols with the well known token ring protocol giving theoretical analysis and also simulation results.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124726463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mentioned service also aims at demonstrating by the practice the feasibility of a Mobile IPv6 deployment and thus contributing to the spread of this mobility protocol. The service presented in this paper is structured around three distinct entities: a Home Agent which is the main server for mobility, a web interface to simplify the operations involving the user and a Live CD as an immediate tool to use the service. This paper also introduces the SONAR measurement tool and presents a concrete example of how it can be used to monitor the activity of a Home Agent. Finally this document proposes solutions for a better Mobile IPv6 experience with the latter service, based on the results of an experiment held during a four-day conference.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134021763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The strategy is fully distributed, and transparent to the client that is performing the locating request; moreover, it is scalable and efficient. The idea is to treat mobile agents and hosts similarly to the way peers are treated in a Peer-to-peer system, and to implement a lookup protocol that is based on that principle, while taking care of the mobile nature of the agents. We also introduce the notion of Agent Pool, which allows us to reuse mobile agents that might be idle in the system instead of creating new ones at each request.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116129342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Wireless Temporal-Spatial Human Mobility Analysis Using Real-Time Three Dimensional Acceleration Data","authors":"A. Kalpaxis","doi":"10.1109/ICCGI.2007.65","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICCGI.2007.65","url":null,"abstract":"It is estimated that by the year 2010, the number of people over 65 years of age will reach 39 million. By 2030, that number is expected to over 70 million individuals in the 85 and older age group making them the fastest growing group of older individuals. Their growth rate is three times more than all of the 65 and older age groups put together. Falls and mobility issues are very common among older individuals and can have severe consequences. In older individuals, falls and mobility issues can occur as a result of normal age related changes such as changes in vision, gait, strength, disease progression, and medication. We introduce wireless microcontroller hardware and software that leverages micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) transducers which communicate with a server-based heuristics analytics system. The real-time heuristics analytics system performs correlation analysis which will allow for measuring and detecting of mobility related events correlated with, for example, specific disease progression and/or changes in medication dosing and scheduling. If there is excessive inactivity detected within a selected time period, notification will be sent by the heuristics analytics system to a response center.","PeriodicalId":102568,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Multi-Conference on Computing in the Global Information Technology (ICCGI'07)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126686351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
