Knuth of Stanford University in California. The entries were chosen and keyed in by the indexer, and then alphabetized, formatted, and typeset by the computer. An unusual data entry format together with good typesetting software made possible the delivery to the printer of the 372 page camera ready index less than two weeks after the indexer received the final pages of text. TEX (which rhymes with ‘blecchhh’ not the letter ‘X’) provides fully automatic pagination.","PeriodicalId":102334,"journal":{"name":"The Indexer: The International Journal of Indexing: Volume 16, Issue 2","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133694291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
