In some SDOs, use cases of IoT services for real deployment have been collected and analyzed to clarify technical requirements. This paper summarizes the special needs of the IoT and the role of SDOs in meeting these needs, especially ISO/IEC JTC 1. It also clarifies requirements according to this use case analysis. Then, it proposes a new platform referred to as “IoT Data Exchange Platform (IoT DEP)” as a basis for standardization. This platform complies with these requirements and provides efficient information transfer over the Internet infrastructure. This paper describes detailed block diagrams of IoT DEP and its operations. Finally, this paper indicates a roadmap for standardization of IoT DEP.","PeriodicalId":102095,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking (CSCN)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132237728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also responsible for the distribution of the total capacity among Virtual Network Operators (VNOs). This distribution should comply with requirements specified in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of each VNO. The admission control process ensures adherence to the minimum service level requirements during network operation i.e. users’ arrivals/departures. A joint resource management and admission control methodology is proposed in this paper that achieves optimality with respect to the aggregate system utility. The proposed approach is evaluated by simulating a sequence of scenarios with increasing number of arrivals. The results confirm maximal utilization of the available capacity in the system while all SLAs are satisfied.","PeriodicalId":102095,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking (CSCN)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133317159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed platform is generic and intended to support the trusted exchange of cybersecurity certification information for any electronic product, service, or process. This paper presents an optical wireless system that uses visible light for transmitting data. The reading light for each seat is used as a transmitter in this work to offer high data rates. Red, yellow, green, and blue (RYGB) laser diode (LD) are utilised in each reading light to obtain a high modulation bandwidth. Two types of reading lights based on angle diversity transmitter (ADT) units are utilised in this paper for illumination and communication. Additionally, two kinds of optical receivers are used: four branches angle diversity receiver (ADR) and 25 pixels imaging receiver (ImR). The delay spread and the signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) are evaluated. The proposed system can offer high data rates up to 22.8 Gbps for each user by using simple on-off-keying (OOK) modulation.","PeriodicalId":102095,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking (CSCN)","volume":"298 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123120772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper studies the co-existence of infrared based Micro cells with Visible light communication based Pico and Atto Cells for downlink communication. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) of each cell and the signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) between cells are evaluated when an angle diversity receiver and an imaging receiver are used. The results show that Atto cell systems provide higher SNR and data rates compared to the Pico cell systems which provide higher SNR and data rates compared to Micro cell systems. The Micro cell systems however provide mobility as they provide a larger coverage area, followed by the Pico cell systems.","PeriodicalId":102095,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking (CSCN)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131075313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many unknowns exist about the performance gains that can be achieved through SR. In this paper, we provide a brief introduction to the SR operation described in the IEEE 802.11ax (draft D4.0). Then, a simulation-based implementation is provided in order to explore the performance gains of the SR operation. Our results show the potential of using SR in different scenarios covering multiple network densities and traffic loads. In particular, we observe significant improvements on the channel utilization when applying SR with respect to the default configuration, thus allowing to increase the throughput and reduce the delay. Interestingly, the highest improvements provided by the SR operation are observed in the most pessimistic situations in terms of network density and traffic load.","PeriodicalId":102095,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking (CSCN)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114405495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
