Método: Foi pesquisado nas bases SciELO, BIREME e PubMed por artigos publicados até 2019, nos idiomas inglês e português. Os critérios de inclusão englobaram artigos originais que analisaram ou discutiram sobre os preenchedores cutâneos com capacidade bioestimuladora e o processo de envelhecimento facial; no total,72 artigos foram considerados elegíveis para esta revisão de literatura. Discussão: No mercado dermatológico existem quatro preenchedores cutâneos (ácido poli-L-láctico, hidroxiapatita de cálcio, policaprolactona e polimetilmetacrilato) que possuem a faculdade de estimular a neocolagênese a partir de uma resposta inflamatória subclínica localizada por parte do corpo do paciente. Cada produto possui suas particularidades quanto à composição, o tempo de início do efeito, e a durabilidade. De acordo com a literatura, todos os preenchedores cutâneos são considerados eficazes e seguros, podendo ser utilizados por profissionais devidamente capacitados. Conclusão: mesmo os bioestimuladores de colágeno sendo excelentes materiais capazes de prevenir ou reverter os efeitos do envelhecimento facial, não existe, porém, um bioestimulador dérmico perfeito, pois todos podem gerar efeitos adversos, devendo o profissional saber selecionar o produto ideal para o tratamento de cada paciente.","PeriodicalId":10204,"journal":{"name":"Clinical and Laboratorial Research in Dentistry","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78013722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

O restabelecimento da relação maxilomandibular é indispensável para o sucesso da reabilitação oral, devolvendo, assim, a estética, a função perdida e a qualidade de vida ao paciente. Uma alternativa de tratamento simples, econômica e de tempo reduzido para pacientes parcialmente desdentados que apresentam alterações no plano oclusal e redução da DVO é a overlay, um tipo de prótese que busca apoio na face oclusal de um ou mais dentes. Este estudo relata um caso clínico realizado durante o curso de graduação em Odontologia, na Policlínica Getúlio Vargas da Universidade de Uberaba, demonstrando a importância e a viabilidade técnica de prótese parcial removível com macroapoio no restabelecimento da DVO do paciente. A partir do que foi encontrado na literatura e no caso clínico relatado, pode-se concluir que as próteses parciais removíveis com macroapoios representam uma alternativa importante no tratamento de pacientes com redução da DVO e consequente restabelecimento das funções do sistema estomatognático, com aspectos conservadores e de reversibilidade.","PeriodicalId":10204,"journal":{"name":"Clinical and Laboratorial Research in Dentistry","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82022793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: Using an SLA 3D printer (Form 2 – Formlabs, Massachusetts, USA), samples (discs) were produced with the printer’s resins, Dental SG®, Dental LT®, Clear®, and Grey®. Samples made of thermopolimerized and auto polymerized acrylic resins were produced as well (Gold Standart parameters). The Knoop Hardness (KH) tests were performed using microdurometer HMV-2 (Shimadzu, Kyoto, Japan). Results: The results showed the Dental SG resin presented the highest KH, compared with thermopolimerized acrylic resin, the Clear and Dental LT resins KH were compared with auto polymerized acrylic resin, and the non-post cured Grey resin (not for intraoral use), as well as the Dental LT resin, showed the lowest KH. Conclusions: Considering the hardness, the printer’s resins are comparable with the acrylic resins established, when the post-processing method is thoroughly followed. The absence of material’s post-processing reduce significantly the material’s hardness. Their effect on dental stem cell survival and differentiation is yet to be established. We aimed to analyze the individual and combined roles of extracellular matrix (ECM) nanotopography and serum (soluble factors) on the growth, differentiation potential, and morphological characteristics of the human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSC). This study aimed to evaluate and compare the hDPSC response to different environmental cues – nanofibers, serum, and conditioned media. Materials and methods: In this study, fabricated PLLA nanofibers were used as the in vitro structural biomimetic of the native nanotopography found in the in vivo ECM/stem cell niche. Serum and conditioned media were used as the in vitro mimic of the soluble factors to which stem cells get exposed in vivo. hDPSC were grown in the presence and absence of biodegradablepoly-L-lactic-acid nanofibers and serum. The growth characteristics of hDPSC were assessed in terms of cell viability and doubling time at the interval of every passage. Cellular morphological changes were studied using inverted microscopy and H&E. As the second part of the study, hDPSC in all culture conditions were exposed to Dental Pulp Conditioned Media (DPCM) for a short duration of 3 days. After transient exposure to DPCM, the growth characteristics and the morphological changes of hDPSC were assessed. In addition, scanning electron microscopy was used for the morphological study of hDPSC on nanofibers, exposed to conditioned media. The differentiated cells were analyzed by qRT-PCR for neurogenic and odontogenic expression of RUNX2, osteopontin, and β-tubulin III genes. Results: hDPSC showed better survival and proliferation in the presence of nanofibers and serum. Absence of nanofibers or serum greatly altered stem cell survival and proliferation and also indicated differentiation. In addition, it was observed that after transient exposure to DPCM, the presence of both PLLA nanofiber and serum favoured higher odontogenic and neurogenic differentiation potential, without characteristic morphological changes of terminal differentiation. Conclusion: hDPSC has the ability to sense nanoscale geometric cues from their microenvironment. Nanotopography and soluble factors of the extracellular matrix both affect hDPSC. Further studies are essential to identify the key pathways that play a vital role in such interactions. The hDPSC demonstrated better survival and proliferation in the presence of nanofibers and serum. Absence of nanofibers or serum greatly altered stem cell survival and proliferation and also showed changes indicative of differentiation. The results were compared and analyzed using GraphPad Prism 5 Software. hDPSC possess the ability to sense nanoscale geometric cues from their microenvironment.
