This interface is aimed at raising the energy-saving consciousness of users who have little knowledge of energy saving. A possible reason for the low level of consciousness of such users is that HEMS does not provide information which helps users in energy-saving planning. To help users who have insufficient knowledge of energy saving, the interface visualizes power consumption and operational information obtained from network home appliances. In order to show which appliances have potential for significant energy-saving effects, the interface uses icons that visually represent high-power appliances whose power consumption exceeds 400 W, along with their operation periods. By viewing the screen, users can easily recognize how to operate appliances for energy-saving planning as well as which appliances have high energy-saving effects. The authors have developed a tool with a built-in interface and have evaluated it by questionnaire.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127542803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is everywhere, but it is sometimes difficult to find and know that data first. In today's digital society, it's easy to find texts to plagiarize. These texts may come from the internet, publishers, or other content providers. Plagiarism is considered a serious fault. Throughout the world, universities are making significant efforts to educate students and teachers, offering guides and tutorials to explain the types of plagiarism, to avoid plagiarism. Internet contains easy to get texts the people can use in their newsrooms simply using copy and paste. This chapter shows the various types of plagiarism and the different techniques of automatic plagiarism detection and related work that addresses the topic.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122403311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such tendentious vision prevailed for many years. Since the mid-90s, the web has become an increasingly crucial source of information , which has a renewed interest in IR. In the last decade, the popularization of computers, the terrible explosion in the amount of unstructured data, internal documents, and corporate collections, and the huge and growing number of internet document sources have deeply shaken the relationship between man and information. Today, a great change has taken place, and the RI is often used by billions of people around the world. Simply, the need for automated methods for efficient access to this huge amount of digital information has become more important, and appears as a necessity.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126706452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Introducing new services increases the risk of compromising security. A mobile app used by drivers to connect the vehicle could be infected with malware and spread to the vehicle. Forging remote starting signals enables an attacker to start the vehicle without a key. Security implications of these services should be investigated and addressed thoroughly. This chapter investigates such problems and provides an overview of vulnerabilities, attacks, and mitigations related to these services along with findings including software bugs and insecure protocols. The mitigations for these attacks include strengthening the security protocol of the vehicle CAN bus and incorporating security protocols such as TLS and IPsec. It is hard to say that all connected vehicles are secured. In conclusion, security cannot be neglected, and best practices like sufficient logging (e.g., IDS), reviewing, security testing, and updating of software and hardware should be used.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125157433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some instructions can be very complicated and difficult to illustrate on paper. Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that superimposes 3D models onto the physical world. This chapter explores the use of AR for assembly through a mobile application for Android devices that serves as an assembly guide for LEGO structures. The system can recognize the current step of the LEGO assembly using data captured via Microsoft Kinect while providing visual feedback through a mobile application. To identify the current step, the system obtains the color and depth data from the Kinect camera and converts the data into a point cloud, which is compared to stored LEGO model data. The system was evaluated based on the accuracy of the recognition, latency of the feedback and the assembly time of the user.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132215033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reconciliation is a feature that allows the user to import bank account statements and easily register them into the software, generating automated reports that help companies achieve their financial control. The research problem was motivated by use cases that were not covered in the studied version of this feature, as well as by recent technological advances. Interaction design was chosen as the project approach and Garrett's five planes as the methodology. As the final deliverable, a prototype was composed of static, bitmap screens, elaborated from a participatory design perspective. This research was developed as a course conclusion project in the Master's degree in Design Program of University of the Region of Joinville, Brazil. The first author of this chapter is also a design coordinator at ContaAzul.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131191581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Biogeography-based optimization (BBO) has some element of randomness to it that apart from improving the feasibility of a solution could reduce it as well. In order to overcome this drawback, this chapter proposes a hybridization of BBO with gravitational search algorithm (GSA), another nature-inspired algorithm, by incorporating certain knowledge into BBO instead of the randomness. The migration procedure of BBO that migrates SIVs between solutions is done between solutions only if the migration would lead to the betterment of a solution. BBO-GSA algorithm is applied to face recognition with the LFW (labelled faces in the wild) and ORL datasets in order to test its efficiency. Experimental results show that the proposed BBO-GSA algorithm outperforms or is on par with some of the nature-inspired techniques that have been applied to face recognition so far by achieving a recognition rate of 80% with the LFW dataset and 99.75% with the ORL dataset.","PeriodicalId":101845,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics","volume":"134 1-3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133355064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
